#1 Pizzeria Lui
- Has some vegetarian options
- Serves alcohol
- No delivery
My first impression of the restaurant was that it had a really cozy atmosphere. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. The staff was friendly, and they offered me some beer with my meal which was an added bonus!
When it came time to order, I had a hard time deciding what to get because there were so many tempting options. But I eventually decided on one of the vegetarian pizzas, and boy am I glad I did! It was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious.
One thing that I did find a bit lacking though was that Pizzeria Lui does not offer delivery service – which is a bit of a bummer for those lazy nights when you don’t feel like leaving the house!
Nonetheless, Pizzeria Lui is still one of the best pizza places in Lakewood CO that I’ve been too. If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and go check them out – you won’t regret it!

#2 Pizzeria Leopold
- Serves alcohol
- No delivery
The restaurant is cozy and the staff is friendly. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately hit with the pleasant aroma of fresh dough, tomato sauce, and cheese. The menu had just the right amount of variety offering several specialty pizzas as well as build-your-own pizza options.
I was delighted to find that this pizzeria serves alcohol! That makes for a relaxing evening out with friends. Unfortunately, there’s no delivery option – you have to visit in person or order online for carryout / pick up. Still, one visit convinced me that it’s worth it to go out for some really awesome pizza.
My favorite selection at Pizzeria Leopold was the pesto and chicken pizza on a thin crust with extra mozzarella cheese. It was delicious – definitely worth a try if you’re ever in Lakewood CO! All in all, Pizzeria Leopold is highly recommended by this food critic!
#3 Abrusci’s Fire & Vine
- Has insanely good dessert
- Serves alcohol (and hard liquor!)
- Has a kid’s menu
- Has some vegetarian options
- Nice tourist spot
The restaurant itself is a cozy place to dine in. The decor is modern yet comfortable, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
But what really sets Abrusci’s Fire & Vine apart from other pizza joints are its toppings. When I ordered a classic cheese pizza, I was taken aback by the sheer amount of mozzarella that was used – it was like an avalanche! And the crust? Thin, crispy and just perfection. Not even Rome has a crust this good!
The other pizzas that I sampled were equally impressive. The Pepperoni-Prosciutto-Mushroom pizza packed a flavorful punch while the Sausage-Spinach Romano was a marriage of savory and salty flavors that made my mouth water.
If you’re looking for the best pizza in Lakewood CO, definitely check out Abrusci’s Fire & Vine – you won’t be disappointed!
#4 Blackjack Pizza & Salads
I had the pleasure of enjoying a few slices of their signature Neapolitan-style pizza. The crust was perfectly crisp, yet not too crunchy; a great balance that held up nicely against the flavorful toppings. The sauce was sweet and tangy, and the cheeses melted to perfection with every bite.
And let’s not forget about their salads! I had a chance to sample one of their specialty creations: a spring mix loaded with tomatoes, bell peppers, olives, feta cheese and croutons, all tossed together in an amazing vinaigrette dressing. It was truly an incredible experience!
The service at Blackjack Pizza & Salads is top-notch as well – their staff went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed during my visit. The ambiance is wonderful too; it’s like stepping into your favorite pizzeria from back in the day.
All in all, Blackjack Pizza & Salads is definitely one of the best spots for pizza in Lakewood CO. Whether you’re grabbing a slice on the go or sitting down for a full meal with friends or family, you won’t be disappointed by what this place has to offer!

The atmosphere at The Garlic Knot is relaxed and inviting, with a cool outdoor seating area to grab a bite on warmer days. I was impressed when I heard they use only the freshest ingredients, which definitely showed in the pizza I tried!
The pizza crust had an almost perfect crunch, slightly thin but still thick enough to hold all of the fresh toppings. #12 Lechuga’s Italian Restaurant

- Offers dessert
- Nice tourist spot
The restaurant is situated in a quaint little corner of the downtown area, with just enough space for a few tables and some stools. Inside smells like fresh baked bread and homemade sauce, drawing me in before I even order.
I had the pleasure of ordering what was touted as their “signature” item on the menu – a personal-sized pizza topped with marinara sauce, all sorts of colorful vegetables, and generous amounts of cheese. I must say, it certainly lived up to its reputation! The crust was perfectly crisp and chewy at the same time, while the topping combo provided an explosion of flavor in my mouth.

Best Thin Crust Pizza – Nicolo’s Chicago Style Pizza
- Offers dessert
Let me tell you, this place knows how to make a pizza that’s thinner than Donald Trump’s excuse for hair. I mean, seriously, it’s barely there, like trying to spot a unicorn in a crowded subway station. But don’t worry, because what it lacks in thickness, it compensates with flavor.
When I took my first bite, it was like a culinary explosion in my mouth. The crust was so thin and crispy, I could practically use it as a frisbee. The toppings were perfectly balanced, like a tightrope walker doing a jig. Each ingredient danced together in perfect harmony, creating a symphony of flavors that made me want to break into a spontaneous moonwalk.
And let’s not forget about the cheese. Oh, the cheese! It was so gooey and melted, it could have been a character in a romantic comedy, making all the other toppings swoon with its charm. The sauce was tangy and had just the right amount of kick, like a salsa dancer on a Hot Chili Pepper Diet.
But what really sets Nicolo’s apart is the friendly atmosphere. The staff is as warm and welcoming as a group of puppies napping on a sunny day. The owner, Nicolo himself, is a hilarious character with a personality as big as the pizza slices they serve.
So if you’re in lakewood and craving a thin crust pizza that’s out of this world, head on over to Nicolo’s Chicago Style Pizza. Just make sure you have your dancing shoes and a healthy appetite, because you’re about to experience pizza perfection.
