Walking into the restaurant, I was immediately enveloped in a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The smells of freshly prepared pizza wafted through the air and my mouth started to water with anticipation.
I decided to start with an order of their delectable garlic knots– definitely one of my favorite dishes here! Even for a food critic like myself, these knots were a real stand-out. They were soft and fluffy on the inside but perfectly crunchy on the outside. The generous handfuls of garlic made them even more flavorful.
Next, I sampled some of their pizzas and they certainly lived up to the hype – with each bite I felt like I’d died and gone to pizza heaven! The crust was thin yet crispy, while the toppings were plentiful and delicious. They also had creative topping combinations like BBQ chicken or goat cheese that elevated each slice.

The first thing that I noticed was the atmosphere. The place looks exactly how you would imagine a classic Italian pizzeria: dimly lit, with a little bit of old-world charm.
The pizza itself was fresh and delicious. They use the freshest ingredients for all of their slices, and the flavors were out of this world. The crust was super crispy on the bottom, yet chewy in the middle, making it very enjoyable to eat.
What really sold me on Rocky’s Pizzeria though was their garlic knots. They are cooked to perfection: not too crunchy, not too soft—just right! The flavor of the garlic is present but subtle enough that it doesn’t overpower everything else. To top it off, they come with a side of marinara sauce that is also made in-house, which really makes them stand out from other restaurants.

Best Deep Dish Pizza – Domino’s Pizza
I know what you’re thinking: Domino’s? Really? But hear me out, folks. As a globetrotting food critic, I have delved into the depths of cheesy, saucy goodness in every corner of the world. From Naples to New York City, I’ve sampled more slices than an overzealous toddler at a birthday party. And let me tell you, Domino’s holds its own.
First off, the deep dish crust at Domino’s is a work of art. It’s perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, yet soft and doughy on the inside. It’s like biting into a cloud made out of pizza dreams. And the cheese? Ah, the cheese. It stretches farther than a marathon runner on a victory lap. It’s so gooey and melty that I suspect there’s some sort of pizza sorcery involved.
Now, let’s talk about the toppings. They have everything from classic pepperoni to exotic pineapple. It’s a pizza lover’s paradise! And the best part? They don’t skimp on the toppings. None of that stingy sprinkle nonsense. No, no. At Domino’s, the toppings are piled high enough to make a small child jealous.
And let’s not forget about the sauce. It’s tangy, it’s zesty, and it’s like a party in your mouth. If you close your eyes, you might even think you’re sipping a fine cabernet instead of devouring a slice of pizza.
So, if you find yourself in north Chicago and craving a deep dish pizza that’s equal parts delicious and hilarious (just like me), give Domino’s a try. You won’t be disappointed.
