I’ve tried all 12 pizza restaurants in the area, and while there were a few that left me less than satisfied, there are some real gems to be discovered.

My criteria for determining the best pizza is strict — freshness of ingredients, stretchy cheese, perfect crunch of crust. I take my pizza seriously! In this article, I will go through each place that I visited and rate them on their ‘pizza-worthiness’.

I have to admit- I’m looking forward to having some more fun discovering and rating the best pizza in Mount Vernon!

#1 Anthony’s Pizza

The atmosphere at Anthony’s Pizza is warm and inviting. The staff was friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The pizza itself was outstanding – crust thin and crunchy, freshly made with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Toppings were abundant, flavorful, and cooked to perfection!

When it comes to toppings, Anthony’s Pizza has no shortage of variety – from classic favorites like peppers, mushrooms, and pepperoni, to more unique flavors like pineapple (which surprisingly works incredibly well). They also offer a wide variety of specialty pies that are sure to satisfy any pizza craving.

The best part about Anthony’s Pizza? Prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of food you get. It won’t break the bank for you to enjoy their authentic Italian-style pies!

Overall I’d highly recommend Anthony’s Pizza if you’re in Mount Vernon looking for some of the best pizza around.

#2 Pelham Pizza

The environment was amazing, with a lovely dining room and a friendly staff. The pizza was to die for – the crust was thin but still hearty, the sauce was flavourful and not too spicy, and the toppings were fresh and plentiful.

The best part about Pelham Pizza? They have some of the most creative pizzas I’ve ever seen! From their ‘Taco Pie’ which features refried beans, cheddar cheese, sour cream, tomato salsa and lettuce to their ‘BBQ Chicken Deluxe’ that comes topped with bacon, onion and banana peppers – there’s something for everyone here!

My personal favourite is their ‘Cheeseburger Explosion’. This pie starts with a base of ketchup-infused tomato sauce, then it gets covered in beef crumbles, diced tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and of course – big chunks of hamburger. It’s sure to leave your taste buds in shock!

Overall I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience at Pelham Pizza. It truly is some of the best pizza in Mount Vernon. If you’re ever in town you owe it to yourself to give them a try – you won’t regret it!

The restaurant itself is small and cozy, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The owners are easy to talk to, and they make you feel right at home.

As for the pizza, it’s simply incredible! Their signature pies have a deep and flavorful crust that stands up well against the rich tomato sauce. The cheese is always plentiful and oozing with flavor, while the toppings never skimp on quality or taste.

I’ve tried both their classic margherita pizza as well as their specialty pizzas like the zesty pepperoni and spicy sausage options, plus some of their special creations like the eggplant-stuffed pizza and the macaroni-and-cheese-loaded pan pizza — all of which were out of this world!

When I first stepped into the restaurant, I was enveloped by a heavenly mix of tomato, basil, and garlic aromas. The pleasant décor and attentive staff made me feel right at home.

The pizza was exquisite; the crust was crispy yet chewy, with a myriad of unique topping combinations that tantalized my taste buds. From their classic Margherita to the Wild Mushroom creation, each bite melted in my mouth. My favorite was the Salami & Truffle — it had the perfect ratio of salty and savory flavors that left me wanting more!

I also appreciated their commitment to sustainability — they only use locally-sourced ingredients and renewable energy sources to prepare their pizzas.

My experience at Pizza Fenice truly felt like taking a culinary journey around the world in one meal. Any pizza connoisseur would agree that this is the best pizza in Mount Vernon without question!

#5 Villaggio

When I arrived at the restaurant, I was pleased by its cozy atmosphere and the friendly staff. The menu provided plenty of options for me to choose from, so I decided to try their signature Villaggio Pizza. It did not disappoint! It had just the right amount of cheese and was loaded with flavourful toppings.

The crust was cooked to perfection. It had a nice crunch on the outside, yet remained doughy and tender on the inside. I also especially loved the pizza sauce – it was a perfect balance of tangy and sweet.

But that’s not all…the pizza also came with a side of garlic butter that added an amazing flavor to what already seemed like a delicious culinary masterpiece!

To sum things up, if you’re in the Mount Vernon area looking for some top-notch pizza, look no further than Villaggio! Believe me when I say it’s well worth the visit.

#6 Johnny’s Pizzeria

From the moment I walked in, I could feel the atmosphere coming alive with the smell of freshly baking pizzas. The brightly lit interior made me feel like I was in Italy and with a wide selection of beers on tap, it felt like a great spot for both tourists and locals alike.

The pizza itself was out of this world! Each slice had just the right balance of cheese, dough and toppings that seemed to melt together in my mouth. Not only were there plenty of vegetarian options, but they also had a kid’s menu — so you can bring your whole family along.

But what really made Johnny’s Pizzeria one of my favorite pizza places were their dessert options! They had an amazing selection of gelato flavors that complimented each slice perfectly.

The only downside to Johnny’s Pizzeria is that they don’t offer delivery services — so if you’re looking for something to go, you’ll need to pick it up yourself or have it delivered by another service. However, this minor inconvenience wouldn’t stop me from returning for more delicious pizza!

#7 Joe’s Fleetwood Pizzeria

Upon entering, I was immediately taken aback by the incredible atmosphere. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance, with exposed brick walls and cozy booths.

The menu is extensive and diverse. Their selection of gourmet pizzas is especially impressive; they have everything from the traditional margherita to more inventive creations like a buffalo chicken-style pizza.

On top of that, their staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure my experience was enjoyable – they even gave me some complimentary breadsticks!

And now, let’s talk about the food – it’s truly amazing! The crust is light and fluffy yet still perfectly crisp on the edges. The toppings are all fresh, with an abundance of flavor in every bite. I’m sure you can understand why I’m declaring Joe’s Fleetwood Pizzeria to be the best pizza in Mount Vernon!

Their atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, whether you’re just visiting or have been a regular for years. The staff are friendly and always willing to help, even when I make strange requests for unusual toppings!

The pizza itself is outstanding. Whether you like classic pepperoni or something a little more adventurous, Pizza Barn’s got it all. Their crust is perfectly crisp, their sauce has just the right balance of savory and sweet – it’s no wonder people come from miles around!

I must also give an honorable mention to the salads; they were crispy, fresh and full of flavor. Nothing like what you usually find in a restaurant pizza place.

All in all, Pizza Barn deserves its title of having the best pizza in Mount Vernon. Even my well-traveled taste buds were impressed!

The atmosphere at Alfredo’s is a real treat. You walk in, and the friendly ambiance is evident right away. With its bright lights, wooden tables and chairs, and checkered tablecloths, you can’t help but feel like you have stepped into a classic Italian pizza joint.

The moment I walked in, I knew I had found something special. It felt like being in an old-school Italian pizzeria that only served up the best quality pies. The smell of freshly baked pizza filled my nostrils as soon as I entered the room.

When it came time to order, I couldn’t decide which type of pizza I wanted! Everything looked mouth-wateringly delicious! After much deliberation, however, I finally decided on Alfredo’s signature pizza – a thin-crust pie topped with mozzarella cheese and fresh vegetables. As soon as it arrived at my table, I knew this was going to be one of the best pizzas I had ever tasted! The crust was perfectly crisp outside while still being soft inside. The vegetables were flavorful and fresh, balancing out the richness of the cheese perfectly.

The staff at Pizza Bella was also top-notch. They were very friendly and helpful in guiding me through their menu and helping me make my selections.

But what really stood out for me about Pizza Bella was their pizza crust. It was perfectly crisp on the outside and incredibly soft and doughy on the inside – just how I like it! Plus, there were tons of delicious topping combinations to choose from, so you’re sure to find something to suit even the pickiest of eaters.
