I’ve sampled some of the best pizzas from around the world, from traditional Italian to New York-style. Now I’m turning my attention to what’s cooking here in Pinellas County. After doing extensive research and eating more than my fair share of slices, I’ve narrowed it down to the very best pizza places in the area.

#1 Pizza Box

I had the pleasure of stopping in to this charming restaurant on a recent trip through town. What really caught my eye was the decor – it’s like stepping into an old-style Italian pizzeria, with red and white checkered tablecloths, brick walls and vintage lighting.

The menu features a range of pizzas from classic cheese to gourmet creations like caramelized onion and fig. I was impressed by the wide variety, but I opted for their spicy pepperoni pizza — and boy, was it good! The freshly made dough was light and fluffy, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were just right.

In addition to tasty pizza, Pizza Box offers excellent service. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that we had everything we needed.

Overall I can confidently recommend Pizza Box as one of the best places to get your pizza fix in Pinellas County. A great atmosphere coupled with amazing food at great prices make this place a must-try!

#2 Charlie & Millie’s Pizza House

The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. It’s like being transported back to the 1940s with its old-school pizzeria feel. The servers are friendly and welcoming, giving it a real neighborhood pizzeria vibe.

I was immediately impressed with their extensive menu of classic pies as well as their homemade dough and sauces. The ingredients are top of the line and you can tell they put a lot of care into creating delicious pizza that looks almost too good to eat!

I tried several different types of pizza and all were fantastic! My favorite was the margherita with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. The flavor combination was out of this world! I also recommend trying out some of their specialty pies like the Prosciutto & Arugula or the Hawaiian BBQ.

Overall, Charlie & Millie’s Pizza House is an incredible place to get a fantastic slice of pizza in Pinellas County – one that I will definitely be back for more!

#3 Cristino’s Coal Oven Pizza

I’m not sure what kind of coal is used to bake their delicious pies, but it must be magical! From the crispy and char-grilled crust to the melted cheese and toppings, each bite was a flavor explosion.

I can’t say enough about their flavor. It’s heaven in every single bite. The classic pepperoni pizza was juicy and savory, while the Margherita pizza was light and tangy. Both were cooked to perfection with a balanced amount of crispiness and crunch.

The atmosphere is great as well—it’s cozy yet welcoming. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, passionate about pizza. There are weekly specials too; the spicy buffalo chicken pizza is one of my favorites!

To sum it up, Cristino’s Coal Oven Pizza offers an amazing experience that can’t be beat. Whether you’re a pizza connoisseur or just looking for a slice on the go, this place delivers incredible flavor every time! It truly is the best pizza in Pinellas County!

#4 Tobys Original Little Italy Pizza

I decided to give Tobys Original Little Italy Pizza a try, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I knew this was the place for me. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their pizza-making process, and the smell of fresh dough baking in their wood-fired ovens smelled absolutely divine.

When my pizza arrived, with its perfect balance of crispy crust and gooey cheese – as well as flavorful toppings – it immediately hit all the right notes. And let me tell you, it definitely exceeded my expectations. Every bite of this pizza had its own unique flavor, which made each one even more satisfying than the last.

The best part of my visit to Tobys Original Little Italy Pizza? They don’t skimp on quality ingredients. Every single topping is fresh and delicious – no soggy mushrooms here! And I’ve got to give a big shout-out to their signature sauce: It’s the perfect blend of tangy tomato and just the right amount of garlic. Yum!

#5 The Nona Slice House

From the outside, Nona Slice House looks like your run-of-the-mill pizza joint, but don’t be fooled. Inside, this place is a chrome, neon slice of paradise. A bonus for parents – they have a kid’s menu so the whole family can be satisfied!

The toppings are fresh and the cheese is cooked to perfection. There are even some vegetarian options to enjoy! Plus, you don’t need to worry about drinking on an empty stomach – The Nona Slice House serves alcohol!

They also have some great options for dessert and it’s a great tourist spot or place to watch sports. The only downside? They don’t offer delivery (bummer!). But trust me – it’s worth the trip.

If you’re looking for great pizza in Pinellas County, The Nona Slice House should definitely be at the top of your list!

#6 Rizzotto’s Pizzeria

The atmosphere was inviting and filled with the aroma of freshly made dough. Upon being seated, I had to immediately order the “Garlic Chicken Alfredo” pizza. It was an absolute delight! The cheese and sauce were perfectly balanced, and the garlic chicken added just enough zest to take it up a notch.

I also had to taste their legendary pepperoni offering. Wow! Talk about flavor overload. The pepperoni was juicy, savory, and every bite filled my mouth with deliciousness.

I’m not one for taking pictures of my food, but this pizza experience was so good I ended up making an exception this time!

My whole experience at Rizzotto’s Pizzeria felt like I stepped out of Pinellas County for a few moments and went on a tasty adventure in Italy. If you ever find yourself craving great pizza, then make sure to check them out – you won’t regret it!

#7 Super Sardo’s Pizza

The atmosphere of Super Sardo’s Pizza is relaxed and welcoming, with a variety of local art on the walls and an inviting staff that’s ready to serve you. Their menu offers classic pizza options like cheese, sausage, pepperoni, as well as some more unique toppings like pineapple and jalapeno.

The pizza itself is absolutely delicious. The crust is light and airy, but still has a nice crunch when you bite into it. The sauce isn’t too sweet, which I really appreciate, and the cheese melts perfectly with each bite. I especially enjoyed their signature topping of black olives!

Overall, Super Sardo’s Pizza deserves to be crowned with the title of best pizza in Pinellas County. It has an inviting atmosphere along with delicious food that will keep you coming back for more!

#8 Fireside Pizza Cafe

I had heard great things about Fireside, so I was excited to see what all the fuss was about. When I arrived, I was immediately impressed by its cozy atmosphere and friendly staff – it truly is a tourist spot!

The menu had something for everyone! For starters, they served my favorite beer on tap, which made the experience that much sweeter. They also have a kid’s menu and some vegetarian options, so families don’t have to worry. And if that wasn’t enough, their dessert choices are simply divine.

The only downside is that they do not offer delivery – you’ll need to visit their location in person to try out the delicious pizza! But trust me when I say that it’s worth making the trip. The pizza is freshly made with quality ingredients – definitely the best pizza I’ve had in Pinellas County!

#9 Country Pizza Italian Grill

I arrived at the restaurant expecting to get a typical thin-crust pizza, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a menu full of creative options. The staff were friendly right off the bat and suggested several of their specialties, which included an incredible white truffle mushroom pie topped with Parmesan cheese.

The pizza dough is impressively light and fluffy, while also noticeably crispier than most others around town. Every bite melted in my mouth and tasted like pure heaven! In addition to the truffle mushroom pie I also sampled a delicious carne asada pizza made with chorizo crumbles, garlic cream sauce, Mexican cheese blend and peppers.

These are just two examples of how much care the kitchen staff puts into each and every dish. They definitely exceed expectations with every single item!

In short, Country Pizza Italian Grill serves some of the best pizza in Pinellas County. I can confidently recommend this gem of a restaurant – perfect for anyone looking for unique takes on delicious pizza pies!

#10 Original Pizza II

The first thing that struck me when I walked into this restaurant was the warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff greeted me with a smile, which made me feel welcome.

Once I took a look at the menu, I had to try their signature dish – the “Original Pizza II.” It definitely lived up to its name! The dough was light and fluffy, and it had just the right amount of cheese and spices. The toppings were fresh and flavourful, too.

I also tried their calzone, which had delicious pesto and ricotta cheese inside. It was perfectly cooked on the outside but still soft on the inside.

To top off my meal, I ordered some garlic knots that were sprinkled with parmesan cheese. They were so flavourful that I could’ve eaten a dozen more!

Overall, Original Pizza II is a great place to enjoy an authentic Italian-style pizza in Pinellas County. Their excellent food combined with their friendly service makes it one of the best places around for a great pizza experience!

#11 Gianni’s NY Pizza

From the moment I arrived, it was evident that Gianni’s takes pizza seriously. The aroma of freshly-baked dough and melted cheese wafted through the air and made me salivate with anticipation.

The restaurant was an inviting, cozy spot – perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. In addition to their signature New York style pizzas, there were also delicious calzones and other Italian specialties to choose from – all made with fresh ingredients.

I decided to go with a classic: a cheese pizza topped with pepperoni and jalapenos. It was truly a masterpiece! The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, while the sauce had a tangy bite that kept my taste buds buzzing. The pizza was packed full of flavor while still being light enough not to weigh me down.

I’ll definitely be back soon – after all, this is the best pizza in Pinellas County! If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience, then look no further than Gianni’s NY Pizza.

#12 Amore Pizzeria

From the moment I stepped through the doors of Amore Pizzeria, I could feel the authenticity and love that goes into each and every pie. The interior was inviting and full of character, which put me at ease as I prepared to sample their offerings.

The menu was full of classic pizza options, but I opted for one of their specials – a unique combination of Italian sausage, caramelized shallots, roasted mushrooms and red onion. The flavors were bold and delectable – just enough spice from the sausage, sweetness from the shallots, umami from the mushrooms, and a hint of tartness from the onion. All in all, it was an explosion of flavor that left me wanting more!

I also sampled one of their dessert pizzas – a sweet treat made with Nutella spread in place of sauce topped with sliced strawberries and drizzled with melted white chocolate chips. It certainly lived up to its name; sweet Heaven on a plate!

Overall, my experience at Amore Pizzeria was nothing short of amazing. They put love into each creation, making it easy to see why they’re considered one of the best pizza restaurants in Pinellas County. Their commitment to using fresh ingredients alongside great service makes them an easy choice when looking for delicious pizza in Tampa Bay!
