I’ve been to Italy, New York City, Chicago, and more in search of the perfect pizza. I’ve had thin crusts and thick crusts, gourmet toppings and simple ones. But Sal’s NY Pie Pizzeria really hit the spot with their delicious pies!
The restaurant has a classic Italian vibe that instantly made me feel right at home. The decor is understated but charming, with a touch of modern style here and there. The service was excellent – the staff were helpful and friendly throughout my visit.
And then there’s the food! The fresh-baked dough was light and crisp, while the sauce was rich and flavorful. The dough is made in-house every day and it’s absolutely spot on – it has just the right amount of crunchiness and chewiness. There’s a great selection of toppings – from classic favorites like pepperoni to more interesting options such as sopressata and anchovies.
I tried a variety of pizzas during my visit, including the ‘Olympic Hero’ with bacon bits, roasted red peppers and mozzarella cheese, and the ‘Apple Pie’ with apples, cinnamon sugar, melted cheese and caramelized onions. Both were so good that I found it difficult to choose which one was better!
