I’m always on the lookout for great pies and it’s been a pleasure to have visited 12 different pizza places in Danbury. From thin crusts to deep-dish, I’ve tried them all and I’m here to share with you my top picks.

My reviews are always lighthearted and humorous, so don’t expect too much seriousness! After all, it’s just pizza, right? Read on if you want to know where to find the best pies this side of Italy!

#1 John’s Pizza

From my first bite, I was struck by the perfect combination of flavors in the sauce and cheese. The crust was thin, light and crispy and held up wonderfully under the layers of toppings. And speaking of toppings- wow! The pepperoni had a great zing to it and the vegetables were fresh and flavorful.

I have to say, this pizza is definitely well worth trying. Don’t take my word for it though- go try it out for yourself! Their prices are also very reasonable, so you won’t break the bank going there.

The atmosphere of John’s Pizza is inviting and friendly too- they don’t put on any airs here. Plus, they accommodate large parties with ease so that everyone can enjoy their pizza together!

#2 Gisella’s Ristorante

First, the atmosphere. This place is definitely on the rustic side, but I enjoyed the coziness and charm of it. There’s nothing quite like a locally owned Italian joint to really give you that warm feeling inside. The staff was friendly, too.

Second, the pizza itself. Boy, oh boy! It was absolutely delicious. The crust was light and fluffy with just enough crunch, and the sauce had just the right amount of zest without being overwhelming. The cheese they used was top-notch—it melted perfectly into every bite!

I would highly recommend Gisella’s Ristorante if you’re looking for the best pizza in Danbury CT. Don’t take my word for it though; try it out and find out for yourself! You won’t regret it!

#3 Westside Deli & Pizza

I arrived at Westside with an insatiable appetite for delicious pizza, and I was not disappointed. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere that welcomed me from the moment I stepped in. Plus, the smell of cheese and freshly-baked crust was absolutely intoxicating!

The staff at Westside were all super helpful and friendly. They gave me valuable tips for the best pizzas to try and recommended some really unique toppings that made my experience even more flavorful.

As for the pizzas themselves, what can I say – they were heavenly! From classic favorites like pepperoni to gourmet specialties like wild mushrooms and truffles, there is something to please every taste bud. The crust was a perfect balance between crispy and chewy, while the generous portions of cheese ensured that each bite was oozing with flavor. In fact, after tasting several slices, I can confidently say that these are some of the best pizzas I’ve ever had – if not THE best!

All in all Westside Deli & Pizza lived up to its hype as the best pizza in Danbury CT – highly recommended!

#4 Taormina Restaurant and Pizza

I had heard good things about this restaurant, but I wanted to experience it for myself. When I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had the pleasure of speaking with one of the owners and they were very passionate about their pizza.

The decor is eye-catching – they have all kinds of artwork on the walls and plenty of room for parties or groups. All in all, it gave me a great atmosphere to enjoy my meal.

When it came time to order, there was no doubt in my mind that the pizza was going to be excellent. I chose a classic Margherita pizza, which came out piping hot and with a perfect balance of cheese, sauce, and crust. The dough was so light and fluffy, like a cloud!

Taormina Restaurant and Pizza really exceeded my expectations – from the attentive service to delicious food. As far as I’m concerned, it’s some of the best pizza in Danbury CT!

#5 Spasi Pizza and Pasta Restaurant 203.628.7960

I’ve gone to this place many times, and the atmosphere is always friendly. The restaurant itself is cozy and inviting. One of my favorite features is the wood-fired oven in the corner of the restaurant – it definitely adds to the authenticity of their Italian cuisine!

The pizzas at Spasi are cooked to perfection, with a crispy yet chewy crust and perfectly melted cheese. I highly recommend trying one of their signature pies, like the Margherita or Quattro Formaggi – they’re simply delicious! And if you’re feeling adventurous, don’t forget to check out their pasta dishes – they all have unique flavors that really give them a great edge over other places.

Altogether, Spasi Pizza and Pasta Restaurant 203.628.7960 has proven itself to be one of the best pizza places in Danbury CT! From their amazing pizzas to their authentic pasta dishes, every visit is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended if you’re a pizza lover!

#6 Martino’s Pizza and Deli

I’m always amazed at how much flavor they manage to get into their pizzas. The crust is cooked perfectly and the toppings are always fresh and flavorful. The people working there are really friendly and make sure you get the pizza you want, just the way you want it.

I especially love their specialty pies like the ‘Pepperoni Delight’, a thick crust pie with tangy tomato sauce, gooey mozzarella cheese, and generous slices of pepperoni on top. It’s definitely one of my favorites!

The calzones here are also delicious – stuffed with ooey-gooey mozzarella cheese and your choice of meat or veggie filling, all neatly tucked in a golden brown crust that’s baked to perfection.

Overall, Martino’s Pizza and Deli is easily one of the best places I’ve been to for pizza in Danbury CT. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere!

#7 Stanziato’s

The atmosphere of the place was great, with plenty of tables and an open kitchen. The friendly staff were eager to serve us, and the menu had a wide selection of pizza varieties.

The pizza itself was delicious! I ordered the Stanziato’s Special, which consisted of sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and garlic. The crust was thin and crispy yet still chewy in all the right places. It was topped off with a generous layer of cheese that melted into perfection!

My wife opted for a custom creation with basil pesto sauce, artichoke hearts, Portobello mushrooms and roasted peppers. She said it was amazing!

We also had some onion rings as an appetizer. They were cooked just right – not too greasy but still creamy inside. The accompanying honey mustard dipping sauce was the perfect complement!

Overall, Stanziato’s is definitely the best pizza in Danbury CT – they don’t skimp on quality or quantity! If you’re looking for good pizza, this is definitely the place to go!

#8 Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

I had heard about Pepe’s from a good friend who said it was a must-visit when in the area. Needless to say, I’m glad that I took my friend’s advice and visited Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana.

The atmosphere is welcoming, with a cozy dining area and an open kitchen so you can get a glimpse of the pizza-making magic happening. Plus, there’s always an ample selection of craft beers available – perfect for washing down Pepe’s famous thin crust pies!

As for the pizza itself? Heaven on a plate is all I can say. The crust has just the right amount of chewiness; it’s not too thick or too thin. The toppings are fresh and flavorful, ranging from classic pepperoni to some really interesting combinations like bacon and clams. There are plenty of veggie options as well – something that even this meat lover appreciates!

Overall, my experience at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana solidified why it’s highly regarded as one of the best pizza places in Danbury CT. If you haven’t already been – what are you waiting for?!

#9 Michael Angelo’s Pizzeria

It’s no surprise why this place is so highly rated. From the moment you walk in, you can smell the pizza baking in the oven and your taste buds start to tingle. The atmosphere is inviting and hospitable, with friendly staff always ready to make sure everything goes smoothly.

The pizza itself is something else entirely! Their dough has a perfect crispness and flavor, providing a great base for the fresh ingredients they use on top. Whether it’s their specialty cheese or unique vegetable options, they always manage to combine flavors in a way that leaves my mouth watering.

I guess I haven’t even gotten to the best part: their prices are unbeatable! Not only do they have amazing pizza, but also very economical prices that don’t break your bank account.

If you’re looking for some of the best pizza around Danbury CT, then Michael Angelo’s Pizzeria is definitely worth checking out! You won’t be disappointed – trust me!

#10 Bambino’s Pizza & Pasta

To start, the atmosphere in this restaurant was very inviting and cheerful. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming which made for an enjoyable experience from the get-go.

The menu had a good selection of delicious pizzas. I sampled the vegetarian pizza and it was wonderful! It had a thin crust that was cooked to perfection, with flavorful tomato sauce and a delicious mix of vegetables on top. Definitely some of the best pizza I have ever tasted!

I also tried their lasagna dish, which was divine! The layers of creamy cheese, savory meat and crisp vegetables were just amazing. Not to mention, the portion size was very generous!

Overall, I would highly recommend Bambino’s Pizza & Pasta if you’re looking for some of the best pizza in Danbury CT!

#11 Soho Pizza Danbury

I can’t get over how great the crust is. It was so thin and crisp – it had just the right amount of crunch that I was looking for. The sauce was flavorful and the cheese wasn’t too greasy, which was a huge plus.

The toppings were also top-notch. From fresh vegetables to meats like pepperoni and sausage, they really nailed it with the flavor combos that they put together.

And let’s not forget about their other menu items – their calzones were some of the best I’ve ever had! The dough was freshly made and not overly cheesy or too heavy on the grease. They even had interesting variations like spinach & feta, Italian sausage, and BBQ chicken.

At the end of the day, there is no doubt in my mind that Soho Pizza Danbury serves up some of the best pizza in Connecticut! So if you’re in town looking for an amazing pizza experience, look no further than Soho Pizza Danbury!

#12 Franco’s Deli and Pizza

I recently had the pleasure of trying some of their delicious offerings and I must say, I was impressed. The pizza was cooked to perfection with a light, crispy crust. The toppings were all fresh and flavorful, and there was just the right amount of cheese to make it melt in your mouth!

The atmosphere at Franco’s Deli and Pizza is also top-notch. The warm, inviting decor makes you feel like family when you walk in the door. Plus, they have friendly staff that make sure your pizza is cooked just right everytime!
