I must admit, I was a bit skeptical when I heard about the place. It isn’t the fanciest restaurant in town, but after trying their pizza, I’m a believer.
The crust is thin and perfectly baked – not too crunchy and not soggy either. The sauce is flavorful and well-seasoned, and the toppings are generous and tasty. But what impressed me the most was the cheese! They use freshly shredded mozzarella that melts in your mouth. Yum!

I was initially struck by the unique and inviting atmosphere of Capo’s. The brick ovens in the corner bring out a genuine Italian pizzeria flair, and provide a pleasant visual contrast to the modern decor of wood accents and art on the walls.
The menu at Capo’s had some great options – from classic Margherita pizza to more creative combinations like Wild Mushroom Feta and Arugula Rocket Pesto. I opted for the classic Combo Pizza, which was bursting with flavor, cooked perfectly in their signature brick ovens. The crust was crispy yet light, the cheese melted just right, and there were plenty of toppings to choose from.
I also tried one of their calzones, which was stuffed full of mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, garlic, and salami – a delicious combination!

As for toppings, there’s an abundance of options from classic pepperoni to more unique additions like roasted red peppers or pineapple. Not to mention, each slice is generously loaded with cheese – creating a melty cheese blanket that is truly divine.

Best Deep Dish Pizza – Chicago’s Pizza
When I first walked into Chicago’s Pizza, I could already smell the delicious aromas wafting through the air. The place had that classic pizzeria vibe, complete with red checkered tablecloths and vintage posters of Al Capone. I half expected to see a gangster sipping a martini in the corner.
As a self-proclaimed pizza aficionado, I knew I had to order their famous deep dish pizza. Let me tell you, it was a game-changer. The crust was as thick and fluffy as a cloud, and the cheese was oozing out of every bite. I took a delicate bite, and the combination of flavors exploded in my mouth like fireworks on the Fourth of July. It was like a cheesy hug from the pizza gods themselves.
But the real kicker was the toppings. Chicago’s Pizza doesn’t skimp on anything. The sausage was piled high, peppering every inch of the pizza. I even found myself counting how many pieces of pepperoni were on my slice (spoiler alert: I lost count…because there were too many!). It was a flavor explosion that made my taste buds do a happy dance.
The only downside? I couldn’t finish the whole pizza by myself. It was massive, like a small car tire. But don’t worry, I took the leftovers home and made friends with my fridge.
So, if you’re in San Antonio and are craving a deep dish pizza that will make you weak at the knees, head over to Chicago’s Pizza. They don’t disappoint, and they may require some extra gym sessions to burn off those delicious calories.
