I thought I’d seen the best of pizza in Italy, Chicago, and NYC, but apparently I still have some tasting left to do. Recently, I’ve embarked on a mission to try out some of the best pizzas in Central NJ – 12 places in particular.
From traditional Italian-American favorites to more creative takes on the classic dish, this has been an entertaining and delicious journey so far. And now I’m ready to share with you my impressions of the tastiest pies from Central NJ.

#1 Tino’s Artisan Pizza Co.

The atmosphere at Tino’s was quite inviting. When I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable staff that made me feel right at home. The decor of the restaurant was both modern and rustic, with bright colors and artwork adorning the walls – it made for a great setting to enjoy some delicious pizza.
When I tried Tino’s pizza, I knew I had found something special. Each slice of their wood-fired pies was loaded with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The crust was just the right amount of crispy and chewy, while the flavor combinations were some of the most unique and satisfying that I had ever tasted!
I couldn’t help but chuckle as my taste buds danced around on my tongue. From the Margherita pie topped with creamy buffalo mozzarella to their Fruitti di Mare pie with succulent jumbo shrimp, no matter what kind of pizza you order from Tino’s you can be sure it will be one of the best pizzas you’ve ever had!
If you’re looking for high quality ingredients, perfectly cooked pizza and great atmosphere then Tino’s Artisan Pizza Co. is definitely worth your time (and money!) Highly recommended — you won’t regret it!

#2 Massa Roman Square Pizza & Italian Specialties

Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the quaint atmosphere. The cheerful decor and warm smiles of the staff set me at ease. I ordered a few slices to sample and was blown away! The cheese had that magical combination of being melty yet firm, and the crust had just enough crunch. But what really set this pizza apart from other places I’ve been to is the unique topping selection. Not only did they have all the classic options like pepperoni and sausage, but they also offered some more creative toppings like prosciutto and artichokes.
Overall, my experience at Massa Roman Square Pizza & Italian Specialties was exceptional! From start to finish, the whole experience had me smiling with joy and eager for more. Definitely one of the best pizza places in Central NJ!

The ambiance of the restaurant was perfect for a tourist like myself – the walls were filled with Italian-inspired artwork, the aroma of pizza tantalized my senses and the staff were so friendly that I felt like I was at home!
The pizza options themselves did not disappoint either. There were several vegetarian options on the menu which were very tasty – certainly enough to satisfy even my picky taste buds. As for dessert, there was plenty of that too. The tiramisu was to die for!
The only downside of Arturo’s is that it does not offer delivery – but being a tourist, I saw this as a blessing in disguise because it meant more reasons to visit this great spot!
Overall, if you’re looking for some of the best pizza in Central NJ then look no further than Arturo’s. You won’t regret it!
#4 L&L Pizza & Pasta New York Style
To start, their dough is fluffy and crisp. It’s expertly crafted to perfection every time, making this place a must-visit for any pizza lover. The sauce is equally as impressive – it’s perfectly balanced, with enough spice to keep you coming back for more.
The toppings are fresh, flavorful, and top-notch – no pun intended! Whether you opt for the classic pepperoni or something more inventive like their artichoke and spinach combo pizza, you’ll be in for a treat. Plus they have plenty of non-pizza options too!
But what really sets L&L Pizza & Pasta New York Style apart from the rest is their friendly service and awesome atmosphere. From the moment you walk in until the time you leave, they’ll make sure your visit is comfortable and enjoyable.

#5 Pete & Elda’s Bar / Carmen’s Pizzeria

The selection of toppings is really something special, and the combination of different ingredients really elevates the flavor. Whether it’s the classic pepperoni, or the more exotic pineapple and bacon topping, my taste buds are always satisfied here.
The crust is especially noteworthy. It’s soft and chewy, yet still has a crunch – like a cloud of pizza deliciousness! The sauce is nice and sweet, while still being savory – it’s just right.
And speaking of being just right – the portion size at Pete & Elda’s Bar / Carmen’s Pizzeria is perfect for two people! After indulging in one slice each, we were able to enjoy a wonderful meal without feeling overstuffed.
Needless to say, I highly recommend this pizzeria if you’re in the Central NJ area. It truly has some of the best pizza I’ve ever had!
#6 Vic’s Italian Restaurant

The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting. The decor had a cool, old-school feel to it that reminded me of some of the classic Italian restaurants I’ve visited in Europe.
The service was great – our server took the time to explain all the various pizzas on offer, as well as offering advice for topping combinations. I could tell that he was passionate about his work; it made for a great dining experience.
And now for the pizza! It was delicious – thin crust with just enough flavor from the dough and cheese combination, topped off with fresh tomato sauce and select toppings. There’s nothing quite like authentic Italian pizza – Vic’s did not disappoint!
I would definitely recommend Vic’s Italian Restaurant to anyone looking for some of the best pizza in Central NJ.
#7 Federici’s Family Restaurant

Now, I know there’s no delivery option — which can be a bummer on the days when you just don’t want to leave the house — but trust me, it’s worth it.
The service was top-notch and so was the atmosphere of the place. It’d make a great tourist spot! Plus, it serves alcohol (including hard liquor) for all your adult pizza needs.
It also has a kids’ menu, which is great since I like to bring my own kiddos along with me when I’m sampling pizzas everywhere. And for all the vegetarian folks out there, Federici’s Family Restaurant has some yummy options too.
But my favorite part about eating at Federici’s Family Restaurant have to be its desserts–they are absolutely insane! So much flavor and deliciousness…I just can’t get enough.
All in all, Federici’s Family Restaurant definitely deserves an A+ rating from this traveling food critic! Best pizza in Central NJ? You bet!
#8 Papa’s Tomato Pies

First of all, I love the atmosphere. It’s small and cozy, with a family ambience that makes you feel right at home. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which I found to be a nice touch.
Now onto the pizza – it’s simply delicious! The crust is nice and crispy on the outside while staying nice and chewy on the inside. They use only the freshest ingredients to create their wide selection of traditional pizza toppings. My favorite is their classic cheese pizza, since it really lets the quality of their sauce shine through. The sauce is tangy yet savory, and has just enough zing to make each bite memorable.
To top off my experience, Papa’s Tomato Pies also offers some great beer selections from local breweries as well as a few imports from Italy for those who prefer something more traditional.
Overall, if you’re looking for some of the best pizza in Central NJ, look no further than Papa’s Tomato Pies – it won’t disappoint!

#9 Giddy’s Pizzeria

From the moment I stepped into Giddy’s, I was in awe of the bright and inviting atmosphere. Every table and seat was filled, making me feel like I had found the perfect spot for a late-night slice of pizza.
The menu offered an impressive selection of pizzas with topping combinations that could please even the pickiest palate. After much deliberation, I decided to try their Neapolitan-style specialty with mozzarella cheese, basil, cherry tomatoes and prosciutto.
From first bite to last, this pizza was heavenly! The crust was thin and crispy without being too crunchy or doughy. The toppings were fresh and brought out all sorts of flavor combinations that blended amazingly together. Even my discerning palette couldn’t help but be impressed!
Overall, Giddy’s Pizzeria is definitely one of the best places to get pizza in Central NJ, and if you’re looking for something delicious – this is the place you want to be!
#10 Nomad Pizza

The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with an interesting variety of decor. I was struck by the unique combinations of ingredients used in the pizzas they offer. Everything from olive-topped to bacon-wrapped options – you name it, they have it.
The crust had just the right amount of crunch and chewiness, while still being light enough to stay together without having to be picked up with a fork. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, and melted perfectly in your mouth – no skimping on quality here!
The service at Nomad Pizza was top notch as well. Everyone was friendly and helpful, making sure that we had everything we needed before sitting down to enjoy our meal.

#11 Brooklyn Boys Pizza & Deli

The moment I stepped in, I could tell that the place was something special. The decor is on point – it has a Brooklyn vibe that’s both inviting and nostalgic. The staff are friendly and take customer service seriously. It’s clear they put a lot of care into every aspect of their pizza-making process.
The pizza itself is nothing short of amazing. Their dough is made fresh daily, and the flavors are delicious! Every bite contains just the right amount of cheese, sauce, and toppings – so much so that it’s almost like eating a gourmet artisanal pizza. They also offer some unique topping combinations that make for an interesting pizza experience.

I was greeted upon arrival by a friendly staff who seemed genuinely invested in my experience. The ambiance was inviting and the atmosphere in the restaurant felt relaxed.
At the recommendation of my server, I ordered the “Dave’s Special.” It was an unforgettable combination of sausage, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. The flavors were perfectly balanced and each ingredient was cooked to perfection. It was clear that a lot of care had been taken in making sure everything was just right – something that can’t be said about many other pizzas I’ve tried.
Round Pie Pizza Company is the real deal when it comes to top-notch pizza! If you find yourself in Central NJ with a hankering for some tasty pizza, then I highly recommend this restaurant.
