After tasting twelve different pizzas from some of the most renowned pizza places in Anchorage, I think I have narrowed it down to the five best. It’s been a long journey, but I’m happy to share my findings with all you pizza fans out there! Whether you’re looking for thin crust, deep dish, wood-fired or something else altogether, you’ll be sure to find something delicious on this list. #1 Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria

The atmosphere at Moose’s Tooth is incredible. Not only can you enjoy delicious pizza, but you can also get drinks from the bar with beer and hard liquor! For families with kids, they even have a kid’s menu with some smaller bites.

One of the great things about Moose’s Tooth is that they offer some vegetarian options as well. I was able to try the veggie pizza and it was surprisingly tasty! And if you’re looking for a sweet treat afterwards, the desserts are insanely good – my favorite was definitely the s’mores pizza.

Now, as great as Moose’s Tooth Pub & Pizzeria is, there is one downside: they don’t offer delivery service. So if you want to enjoy their amazing pizza, you’ll need to come in and pick it up yourself. Despite this minor inconvenience, it’s definitely worth going out of your way to get an order from Moose’s Tooth – trust me, it’s the best pizza in Anchorage!

From the moment I stepped into Saverio’s, I was impressed. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the staff were completely passionate about their pizza craft.

When it came time to try the food, I wasn’t disappointed in the least. The crust was perfectly thin with just enough crispiness without being overly crunchy. The tomato sauce was flavorful and not too sweet or acidic, while the cheese was melted just right. The toppings were fresh and flavorful – every bite had something new to discover!

The restaurant itself was cozy and welcoming, with a stone oven that you could smell from the street. From the moment I walked in, it felt like home—I could tell that this place had some serious pizza-making chops.

I ordered their signature dish: a classic pepperoni pizza. The delicious aroma emanating from the kitchen only added to my anticipation. If Sorrento’s was half as good as it smelled, I knew I was in for a treat.

The atmosphere here is aptly described as a hole-in-the-wall, but the pizza is so good that it almost doesn’t matter. On my first visit I tried the Hawaiian pizza and was pleasantly surprised by the flavorful combination of pineapple and ham atop a wonderfully crispy crust.

The Italian Sausage pizza was also a hit with its tasty tomato sauce, robust Italian sausage, and plenty of cheese. My third favorite was their Margherita pizza; they didn’t skimp on the basil or tomatoes which really made this classic pop. In fact, if you close your eyes while eating it you could almost be in Italy!

But perhaps the best thing about Lalo’s Pizza Take Out is their pricing. It’s incredibly affordable for such great quality pie.

From the moment you enter Capone’s, you can tell they take their pizza seriously. The decor is definitely a homage to its namesake, and the aroma of fresh dough, herbs and cheese has your mouth watering before you even order.

The pies themselves are nothing short of spectacular. Their signature sauce is the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, and their crusts are light and fragrant. Topped with high-quality mozzarella cheese and a variety of fresh toppings, I’ve never had a better pizza!

Their prices are also incredibly reasonable for the quality of food you get. You can create your own custom pizzas from their wide selection of toppings, or choose one of their specialty pizzas for less than $20. They also offer a selection of traditional sides like garlic knots and salads that were delicious.

And don’t even get me started on the cheese – it was melted to gooey perfection!

But what truly sets Milano’s Pizzeria apart from other pizza restaurants is their attentive attention to detail. Every pizza was carefully prepared with precision and love – something you can taste in every bite!

To top it all off, the cheese melted into the sauce in a way that can only be described as ‘heavenly.’

My favorite pizza here was undoubtedly ‘The Reykjavik.’ It has a mixture of cheeses alongside traditional Icelandic ingredients like smoked salmon and fresh dill. It’s savory, creamy goodness that will have you coming back for more. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try their ‘Royal with Cheese’ – it’s similar to an Italian Calzone but with Muldoon Pizza’s special flair.

Walking into Capone’s feels like stepping into a time machine back to the heyday of the infamous gangster. I half expected to see Al Capone himself sitting at a booth, chomping on a slice of their unforgettable deep dish masterpiece. But instead, I was greeted by a friendly staff who welcomed me as if I were their long-lost mob cousin.

Now, let’s talk about the pizza. If you’re a fan of thick, hearty, and cheesy slices, look no further. Capone’s deep dish is a triumph of dough, sauce, and a ridiculous amount of toppings that practically spill out of the pizza with each bite.
