Having tried pizza in Europe, Asia, and all over North America, it’s safe to say I’m something of a pizza connoisseur. So naturally, when I arrived in Ames IA, I was on the hunt for the very best pizza the city had to offer. #3 Papa Murphy’s | Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza

My experience started out winding through the quaint and cozy store atmosphere, complete with country-style decor, and a staff happy to answer my every question. The menu was reasonably priced and filled with mouthwatering options—pepperoni, cheese, Hawaiian, vegetarian—the possibilities were endless! They even had an array of creative pies like their Garlic Chicken Supreme or the Mediterranean Veggie.

I decided to try the Papa Murphy’s Special – a double crust classic delight topped with pepperoni, onions, mushrooms, sausage and black olives. As I waited for my order I watched as they prepped it right in front of me before putting it in the oven – freshness guaranteed!

When it came out piping hot my taste buds were tingling with excitement. It was cooked to perfection; as if I had been transported home to Italy itself! The crust was flaky and crisp while still being chewy inside. All of the toppings were evenly distributed throughout giving all pieces a delicious flavor from first bite to last slice.

It has been an exhausting quest, but one that ended with a delicious reward. Pizza Pit had the most mouthwatering selection of pizzas I have ever tasted! From the classic cheese and pepperoni to specialty pies like their Big City Pie, there is something for everyone.

I must admit, though, that their Big City Pie was the ultimate treat. Topped with roasted tomatoes, feta cheese, and fresh basil Leaves, it was as flavorful as anything I’ve tried in my travels. The crust was thick yet airy enough to hold up to all the toppings without becoming soggy.

The service was friendly and welcoming as well. Everyone working at Pizza Pit seemed really passionate about making artisanal pizza that tastes great. Plus they were happy to answer any questions I had about their menu or ingredients used in their recipes.

All in all it is safe to say that pizza lovers should check out Pizza Pit if they’re ever in Ames IA looking for the best slice ‘o pie. It certainly lives up to its name as one of the top pizza restaurants in town!

Speaking of my pizza…it was delicious! The crust was perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of crunchiness. The toppings were all cooked to perfection too and had incredible flavor combinations that kept me coming back for seconds (or thirds!).
