After exploring the small city and tasting more pizza than I ever thought I’d have to in my life, I’ve found twelve restaurants that are really worth eating at. It’s been a fun adventure so far and I’m excited to share with you what I’ve discovered!

I’m here with some great news – Connecticut New Haven has some of the best pizza places around. So if you’re looking for delicious pizza pies, then read on to find out which gems made my list – it’ll be like taking a world tour without leaving your house!

#1 Zeneli Pizzeria e cucina Napoletana

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this quaint pizzeria, and I must say I was quite impressed. For starters, they have a great selection of alcoholic beverages to accompany your meal – perfect for adults! We also noticed they have some vegetarian options too, so my friends who abstain from meat can also enjoy a delicious slice.

The pizza itself was fantastic. The crust was thin and perfectly crisp; the tomato sauce had just enough sweetness; and the generous portion of cheese made it extra indulgent. I especially enjoyed their dessert offerings – including an incredible Tiramisu!

My only complaint is that they don’t provide delivery service. Although it’s no doubt a nice tourist spot, being able to order in would be a great convenience.

All in all though, Zeneli Pizzeria e cucina Napoletana has earned its place as one of the best pizzerias in Connecticut New Haven – and worth checking out if you’re ever in town!

#2 Pasta Eataliana Trattoria Napoletana

The crust is spot-on, with a light charring around the edges that gives it just the right amount of crunch. The sauce had a great balance of sweetness and acidity, and the cheese was unbelievable!

The toppings are where this pizzeria truly shines, though. The topping combinations are creative and fun, and perfectly balanced – no one topping overwhelms another. From the classic pepperoni to the more adventurous creations like eggplant, mushroom, thyme and garlic, every combination tasted delicious!

The atmosphere at Pasta Eataliana Trattoria Napoletana also has something for everyone. It’s an inviting and cozy spot with rustic Italian decor – from the exposed brick walls to the tiled floors. Plus, it’s always bustling with people so there’s always a lively and cheerful atmosphere in the restaurant.

At the end of the day, I truly believe that Pasta Eataliana Trattoria Napoletana has some of the best pizza in Connecticut New Haven – if not all of New England! If you’re ever in town looking for great pizza then you absolutely have to go here!

#3 Modern Apizza

I was first wowed by the ambience of the restaurant. The atmosphere gives a real taste of old New Haven, but with a modern twist. Plus, they serve beer and wine, making it a great tourist spot.

The food is top-notch – there are plenty of vegetarian options for those who don’t eat meat, and I love that they offer dessert. As for the pizza itself, you can’t go wrong with their classic thin crust pizzas with delicious ingredients.

My only gripe is that they don’t offer delivery – clearly Modern Apizza isn’t trying to compete with the delivery places!
All in all, if you’re looking for some of the best pizza in Connecticut New Haven then you can’t go wrong here at Modern Apizza!

#4 One 6 Three

As soon as I stepped inside this restaurant, I knew that it was going to offer a unique pizza experience. The air was thick with the scent of freshly baking dough and melted cheese. There’s nothing quite like it!

The menu is overflowing with awesome toppings to customize my pizza just the way I wanted it! From zesty pepperoni to savory mushrooms, there was no shortage of options. The waiter recommended their signature house sauce which paired amazingly well with all those tasty ingredients.

The pies are made fresh daily with the finest ingredients and cooked in a wood-fired oven. That special crunch and smoky flavor come together perfectly creating an unforgettable taste sensation.

I have to say that this place is easily among the best places for pizza in Connecticut New Haven. If you’re looking for fantastic pizza at an affordable price then look no further than One 6 Three!

#5 Family Mediterranean Pizza

My first experience at Family Mediterranean Pizza was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

Upon entering, I was immediately treated to the delectable aroma of freshly baked pizza. The tantalizing scent lured me in and my expectations were certainly met.

I ordered a large pepperoni pizza for myself, which arrived steaming hot with cords of cheese melted on top. I could hardly wait to bite into this masterpiece. Unsurprisingly, it tasted absolutely amazing! The dough was perfectly cooked with a generous helping of quality toppings that yielded a unique flavor experience that left me wanting more.

Family Mediterranean Pizza offers excellent value for money – you can get a large family sized pizza for only $15! No wonder they’ve been named some of the best pizza in Connecticut New Haven!

#6 RAWA Mediterranean Fusion, Middle Eastern Food, Pizza Place

I was intrigued by the Mediterranean-fusion menu and couldn’t wait to try it. I was not disappointed! The pizza crust was crispy and light, with just the right amount of char. The toppings were incredibly flavorful, a mix of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ingredients that combined beautifully.

The atmosphere is warm and cozy, and the staff are helpful and friendly. I asked about some of their specialty pizzas but settled for my tried-and-true cheese pizza. It was the best decision I could have made! All around me people were devouring slices from wild combinations like lamb and feta, honey sesame goat cheese, and more. They looked incredible — next time I’m definitely trying one of them!

Overall I would highly recommend RAWA Mediterranean Fusion if you’re looking for the best pizza in Connecticut New Haven!

#7 Zuppardi’s Apizza

The atmosphere was great; the restaurant had a nice tourist spot feel to it, it was bustling with locals and visitors alike. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the service was good.

As for the food, I’m amazed! The combinations of ingredients used in each pizza are simply delicious. The crust is perfectly crispy and not too thick or thin, allowing for a tantalizing texture that keeps you wanting more. And let’s not forget the plethora of vegetarian options, so if you’re a veggie lover like me you’ll be right at home here.

Also, they serve alcohol which is always appreciated when eating out, and have desserts available too to finish off your meal in style! My only complaint would be that Zuppardi’s doesn’t deliver – but trust me, this isn’t an issue because once you’ve visited this place you won’t want to go anywhere else!

All in all, my experience at Zuppardi’s Apizza has been one of my favorites – no doubt they serve some of the best pizza in Connecticut New Haven. Highly recommended!

#8 Grand Apizza New Haven

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted with the wonderful smell of baked pizza, and it only got better from there. Everything on the menu is cooked to absolute perfection. The pizza crust is thin but crispy and not too greasy, even when you load it up with toppings. To me, that’s a sign of a great pizza place. Plus, the ingredients are always fresh and delicious and the atmosphere can’t be beat–it’s perfect for an intimate dinner or a group outing.

I’ve sampled nearly every item on their menu and I haven’t had one bad experience yet! From their classic Margherita to their unique Hawaiian-style pizzas, Grand Apizza New Haven definitely has something for everyone. Their wings were also cooked to perfection and paired nicely with their homemade ranch dressing that had just enough spice to tantalize my taste buds!

At Grand Apizza New Haven, they have truly mastered the craft of pizza-making. If you’re ever looking for some of the best pizza in Connecticut New Haven, look no further than Grand Apizza New Haven!

#9 Ernie’s Pizzeria

From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with classic Italian music playing in the background.

The pizza was the star of the show, though. The thin crust was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of crunch when bitten into. Each bite was filled with a flavorful blend of cheeses and herbs that had my taste buds dancing!

To top it all off, they had some amazing homemade sauces that were delicious and unique—I particularly enjoyed their spicy marinara!

In conclusion, while Ernie’s Pizzeria isn’t perfect—it can get a bit crowded on weekends—it is definitely one of the best pizza spots in Connecticut New Haven. Highly recommended!

#10 Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

The experience itself was something to remember. You can smell the pizzeria from miles away thanks to the wood-fired oven and the perfect aroma of melted cheese, tomato sauce and fresh ingredients.

My first bite of the pizza was indescribably delicious! The thin crust was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of charring on it, and the cheese and toppings were perfectly balanced with each other.

It’s no wonder why this is one of the most popular spots in all of Connecticut New Haven. People come from far distances to experience the best pizza in town!

The service at Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana is top notch as well. The staff is friendly and attentive and genuinely wants you to have an enjoyable experience while you’re there. They are also very quick at delivering your food so you don’t have to worry about waiting too long for a great meal.

If you’re ever looking for some of the best pizza in Connecticut New Haven, definitely visit Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana. I know that I’ll be returning many times over!

#11 Town Pizza

I visited the restaurant with high expectations and I must say, they exceeded them. We were quickly seated and greeted warmly by the staff. After perusing their impressive menu, I settled on a classic cheese pizza.

When my pizza was served to me, it was piping hot and had that mouth-watering aroma that could lure anyone in. Cheese oozed over each slice like a volcano of flavor. The crust was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunchiness.

The next day we decided to try their specialty – the Big Town Pizza. This massive concoction was packed with so much cheesy goodness that it weighed several pounds! Every bite brought out different flavors from vegetables, sausage, pepperoni, bacon and olives. It truly lived up to its name!

Overall, I can honestly say that Town Pizza is one of the best pizza spots in Connecticut New Haven. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend you stop by this restaurant for an unforgettable experience!

#12 Sally’s Apizza

The restaurant, situated in the heart of downtown New Haven, has a great atmosphere for a low-key dinner. The cozy atmosphere and 50’s style decor give it an added charm. Plus, they have some of the friendliest servers I’ve ever encountered!

I got to try their famous “Apizza.” It was one of the most delicious pizza pies I’ve ever tasted. Crispy on the outside and flavorful on the inside with just the right amount of cheese, it was pure perfection. The toppings were plentiful and fresh.

If you’re looking for a unique experience, make sure you try out one of Sally’s Apizza’s specialty pizzas. I highly recommend their signature “White Clam Pie,” which is made with fresh local clams and topped with garlic butter and Parmesan cheese. Delicious!

In short, Sally’s Apizza is worth checking out if you’re in the mood for some great pizza. It’s clearly one of the best pizza spots in Connecticut New Haven – hands down!
