I’ve sampled the pies at 12 different places in search of the best pizza in Door County. I’ve tasted thick crusts and thin, classic toppings and unique creations, all in pursuit of the perfect slice.

In this article I’m bringing you my findings, so get ready for a mix of humor and helpful advice as I recount my experiences tasting some truly delicious (and not-so-delicious) pizzas!

#1 Bad Moravian

No matter what topping combination I choose, I’m always blown away by how delicious their pizza is. With a great selection of beer and wine, it’s the perfect place for a night out with friends.

The only downside to Bad Moravian is that they don’t offer delivery. Of course, that means you’ll have to make the trip to Door County in order to enjoy their best-in-class pies – but it’s worth it!

I’ve sampled pizzas from all over the planet, and I can confidently say that Bad Moravian has truly earned its spot among the top pizza restaurants in the world. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience while visiting Door County, make sure you drop in at Bad Moravian – you won’t regret it!

#2 Jolly’s Street Pizza

I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant while I was waiting for my pizza. It had a nice touristy vibe and it was bright and welcoming.

My mouth watered as I waited for my pizza because they have some great toppings available! The crust was light and fluffy, and the cheese was ooey-gooey deliciousness. And the toppings – oh my! They were fresh and flavorful. It was like an Italian party in my mouth!

The one downside to Jolly’s Street Pizza is that they don’t offer delivery which means you’ll actually have to set foot in Door County to enjoy this deliciousness – but trust me, it’s worth the trip!

So if you’re looking for the best pizza in Door County, Jolly’s Street Pizza is definitely your place!

#3 La Cocina Catering Llc

I’m talking about pizza that makes you feel like you’re in Naples without ever leaving your own home. The crust is a perfect balance between crispy and airy, and the toppings are so fresh and flavorful! I tried the classic Margherita Pizza, which has to be one of the best margheritas I’ve ever eaten.

The atmosphere at La Cocina Catering Llc is also top-notch. It’s always bustling with energy, even on a weekday night. Plus, they offer an awesome selection of beers and wines to pair with your meal.

To top it off, their prices are incredibly reasonable. I went in expecting to pay an arm and a leg for quality pizza—but I ended up paying a fraction of what I’d usually pay for something this good.

#4 One Barrel Brewing Company Door County

The simplicity of the ingredients made for a delicious pie. The thin crust was cooked to perfection, holding in all of the flavors of the sauce and cheese within. Every bite was downright heavenly.

The restaurant itself is cozy and inviting, and it serves alcohol — a huge plus! And while I will note that there is no delivery option, the pizza was so good I’m sure even the most impatient customers would be more than happy to make the trip! All in all, One Barrel Brewing Company Door County certainly lived up to its reputation as having some of the best pizza in Door County.

#5 Wild Tomato Wood-Fired Pizza & Grille Fish Creek

The atmosphere of this restaurant is great for families and couples alike. The kids are well taken care of with a delicious kid’s menu, while parents can enjoy their choice of alcohol with their meal. For vegetarians, there are some solid options as well. Best of all, to finish off your meal, you can indulge in one of several delicious desserts!

One downside is that they don’t offer any delivery service, so you’ll have to make the trip out to Fish Creek if you want the best pizza in Door County. But I promise it’ll be worth the effort!

All in all, Wild Tomato Wood-Fired Pizza & Grille Fish Creek is definitely worth checking out if you ever find yourself in Door County in search of an amazing slice of pizza pie!

#6 Pizza Czar – PC/DC

Their cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a great tourist spot. For those of us looking for a break from the standard tourist fare, you can’t go wrong at Pizza Czar – PC/DC.

The pizza is great, with lots of unique toppings and a variety of crusts to choose from. Plus, they serve alcohol! What more do you need for an evening out? The only downside that I can think of is that they don’t offer delivery, which means you have to take the time to get there yourself.

All in all, I give Pizza Czar – PC/DC two thumbs up! If you’re looking for the best pizza in Door County, this is the place to be!

#7 Wild Tomato Wood-Fired Pizza and Grille Sister Bay

I love how they make their pizza with a wood-fired oven, giving it that perfect smoky flavor you can only get from cooking in a brick oven. Plus, there are plenty of options for vegetarians and for kids, as well as enough veggie toppings to keep even the pickiest eaters happy!

The atmosphere at Wild Tomato Wood-Fired Pizza and Grille Sister Bay is perfect for a tourist spot. They serve alcohol, so if you’re in Door County on vacation and looking to have some fun, this is the place to be! And the service was incredibly friendly and accommodating.

The only downside I could find was that they don’t offer delivery. But really, why would you want your pizza delivered when you could experience the amazing pizzas at Wild Tomato Wood-Fired Pizza and Grille Sister Bay first hand! In my opinion, it’s well worth the trip – they make some of the best pizza I’ve had anywhere.

#8 Clover & Zot

As a food critic, I must say that the atmosphere here is great. It’s a nice tourist spot and they even serve alcohol, which makes it even more enjoyable. Plus, they have vegetarian options for those of us who don’t eat meat. And if you saved room for dessert after devouring their delicious pizza, they offer several options to finish off the night in style.

The only downside to Clover & Zot is that they don’t do delivery, but since their pizza is so good, it’s worth the trip no matter what! All in all, I think Clover & Zot has some of the best pizza in Door County, and should definitely be added to your list of places to visit when in town.

#9 SubExpress & Pizza Primo

I was blown away by the quality of the ingredients and the skill of their chefs. They have a great selection of vegetarian options, as well as a kid’s menu that my kids loved!

The presentation at SubExpress & Pizza Primo was top-notch. The pizzas are served on wooden boards with colorful sides, accompanied with fresh cut herbs. It also offers dessert, so you can leave fully satisfied after your meal.

The only downside to this place is that they do not offer delivery service. However, it is a nice tourist spot and worth the visit!

I highly recommend SubExpress & Pizza Primo for the best pizza in Door County – you won’t be disappointed!

#10 Fatzo’s Subs & Pizza of Sturgeon Bay

I was first won over by the restaurant’s cozy atmosphere and the delicious aroma of freshly baked dough that filled the air. Then, when I bit into my slice of pizza, I knew I’d found something special. The cheese was perfectly melted and the crust had a satisfying crunch to it. But what really put Fatzo’s in a league of its own was the sauce—it had just the right amount of sweetness and tang to make each bite an absolute delight.

I’m not usually one for subs, but after being tempted by the menu, I decided to give one a try and it did not disappoint! The bread was light yet soft, while the fillings were plentiful and flavorful. All in all, this is a place worth coming back to time and time again.

When you need your pizza fix, look no further than Fatzo’s Subs & Pizza—you won’t be disappointed! They serve some of the best pizza in Door County!

#11 Papa Murphy’s | Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza

First of all, their dough is freshly made every day and all their ingredients are top notch. The crust is the perfect combination of crispy and chewy, and it really complements the rest of the toppings.

Secondly, their selection of pizzas is fantastic! From classic cheese to their specialities like Thai chicken and Margherita pizza, you can’t go wrong with any of their concoctions. Not to mention that they offer a variety of vegan and gluten-free options too!

Lastly (but certainly not least) the prices for each pizza are very reasonable – and even better if you get one on sale or loyalty program!

All in all, Papa Murphy’s | Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza is definitely a must-try if you’re in the Door County area looking for some delicious pizza. I’ve never had a bad experience here, making it easily one of my favorites!

#12 Sonny’s Italian Kitchen & Pizzeria

Not only do they offer an array of classic Italian pizzas, but also have a variety of specialty pies that you can’t find just anywhere. From the Sicilian-style “Grandma Pie” to their signature “Sonny’s Special,” these guys know what they’re doing when it comes to making pie!

The atmosphere at Sonny’s is absolutely wonderful. You can tell that the staff takes pride in their restaurant and are passionate about giving their customers top-notch service. I could feel the love and warmth in the air as soon as I stepped foot in the door.

The ingredients are fresh and flavorful. The sauces are thick and robust, blending perfectly with mozzarella cheese and fragrant herbs like oregano, basil, and rosemary. Every bite of pizza was an absolute delight for my taste buds!

If you haven’t had a chance to try Sonny’s pizza yet, I highly recommend you do so soon! You simply can’t get better pizza than Sonny’s Italian Kitchen & Pizzeria – it truly is some of the best pizza in Door County!
