I’ve been to some of the best pizza places around the world, and today I’m here in Galena IL. I’m on a mission to find the very best pizza the town has to offer – and no, that doesn’t mean delivery from Domino’s! Over the next few paragraphs I’ll tell you my top ten picks for best pizza in the area, all based on my own hilarious and lighthearted reviews. So buckle up; it’s going to be a wild ride!

#1 Artisan Pizza

To start, the atmosphere at Artisan Pizza is top notch. The décor is modern and inviting, making you feel like you’re at a chic pizza parlor in Rome or Naples. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming – it really made for a great experience.

But, of course, none of that matters if the pizza isn’t good. Luckily, Artisan Pizza’s pies are phenomenal! I sampled a few different kinds – their classic Margherita, their pepperoni with Pecorino Romano cheese, and their Pear & Gorgonzola. Every slice was cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The flavors were so rich and delicious I can safely say this is the best pizza I’ve had in Galena IL!

If you’re looking for great pizza in town, then you definitely need to head to Artisan Pizza. You won’t be disappointed!

#2 Dillon’s

I’m not one to be easily impressed but Dillon’s really knocked it out of the park. For starters, they’ve got a great selection of alcoholic beverages. I’m talking beer, wine, and hard liquor – something you don’t find at most pizzerias! The atmosphere is casual and inviting, which makes it the perfect spot to catch a game or just kick back with some friends.

The pizza itself definitely stands out too. They use quality ingredients like fresh mozzarella and homemade sauce that will have your taste buds watering. Add on some tasty toppings options like prosciutto and sausage sautéed mushrooms, and you have yourself an amazing pie.

My only complaint about this place is that they don’t offer delivery service. That would take this place over the top from good to great! But if you stop in for a bite, you won’t regret it. Dillon’s has the best pizza in Galena IL – bar none!

#3 Cannova’s Pizzeria

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this quaint little eatery and let me tell you, it certainly did not disappoint. I ordered their specialty – the “Cannova Supreme” – and it was out-of-this-world! A thin crust topped with plenty of cheese and flavorful veggies, all placed atop a perfectly seasoned sauce? Count me in!

The atmosphere at Cannova’s is laid back and inviting, but also clearly meant for a great pizza experience. The décor is simple yet elegant, highlighted by big screens where you can watch live sports or other events while enjoying your meal.

Beyond just great pizza, Cannova’s also offers an impressive selection of sandwiches, salads, desserts, and drinks. All of which are sure to please any palate.

Overall, I would highly recommend Cannova’s Pizzeria to anyone looking for the best pizza in Galena IL – or even just a great night out. I guarantee that this place won’t disappoint!

I was drawn in by the large variety of toppings and sauces to choose from. Plus, they offer alcoholic beverages, hard liquor too! I felt like a kid again when I saw their kid’s menu with fun options for young pizza-lovers.

The sports fans will love this place – it’s a great spot to catch the games while chowing down on your favorite pizza. And if you have some room left over after your meal (which is unlikely given the size of the portions), make sure you order some dessert. It’s always worth saving a bit of room!

The only downside at Highlands Restaurant is that they don’t offer delivery – so you’ll have to make a trip there to enjoy their amazing pizzas. But trust me – it’s worth it!

#7 Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream – Galena

When I visited, I was immediately greeted with a friendly smile from the staff. They offered me the full menu which had something for everyone – I was thrilled to see that they even have vegetarian options! But what really impressed me was their combination of pizza and soft serve ice cream – such a unique and delicious experience!

I ordered my pizza loaded with all the toppings, and it was delightfully delicious! The crust was just right – not too thick, not too thin. As someone who loves to try new things, I appreciated the fact that they offered a few different unique pizza combinations on the menu. Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream also offers alcoholic drinks if you want to wash down your pizza with something special.

The restaurant provides a nice atmosphere for tourists as well; it’s warm and inviting, and there’s a great view of Galena IL outside. Plus, they have a kid’s menu so families can enjoy their meal together. Even better is that they offer dessert options like ice cream – perfect for when you’ve got an extra sweet tooth!

My first impression upon entering the restaurant was that this place was really something special. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with art-deco decor and warm lighting.

The food itself was incredible! Every slice of pizza I tried melted in my mouth – their thin crust pizzas are incredibly flavorful. They also offer an interesting selection of vegetarian options and a great selection of other Italian dishes too.

I especially enjoyed their cocktails and desserts. Their selection of drinks is broad and the bartenders are knowledgeable about different varieties. The desserts were delicious too – especially the cannoli which had a nice crunchy center.

The only downside to my experience at Pasta Perfetta is that they don’t offer delivery service, so if you’re looking for some hot pizza delivered straight to your door you’ll have to look elsewhere Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to enjoy a pizza from home during my last visit to Galena IL but their food makes it worth the trip!

#9 Fried Green Tomatoes

I was immediately impressed with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Not only do they serve an expansive selection of alcohol (including hard liquor!), but they also have several vegetarian options, which is perfect for my dietary needs. Plus, the desserts were insanely good!

The pizza itself was delicious and cooked to perfection. Most importantly, it was quite filling and incredibly satisfying. I could tell that each ingredient had been carefully selected and that every bite was simply heavenly.

Although Fried Green Tomatoes doesn’t offer delivery like some other places do, it’s definitely worth visiting if you are in the area, as this is a great tourist spot with amazing food all around. I highly recommend their pizza, which is up there among some of the best I’ve ever had!

#10 Vinny Vanucchi’s

The pizza here is so delicious and flavorful that I’m convinced they could make an amazing wood-fired pizza from the humble and beloved cheese pizza alone. The staff here is also really friendly and helpful, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

One of the great things about Vinny Vanucchi’s is that it serves alcohol (including hard liquor!) for those of us who prefer a nice cold beer or classic cocktail with our dinner. It also has a homey atmosphere that makes it great for families with kids – they even have a kid’s menu! And if you’re looking for vegetarian options, don’t worry, as there are plenty of meatless pizzas to choose from.

But one thing I must mention is that there’s no delivery option here. So if you’re planning to have Vinny Vanucchi’s delivered to your house, then you’ll need to find a friend or family member who’s willing to pick it up for you. But trust me, it’ll be worth the effort.

Now let me tell you about the dessert: simply put, it’s insanely good! If you can manage to save some room after devouring their delicious pizza, then try out one of their scrumptious desserts like their famous Tiramisu or Chocolate Cinnamon Cake – I know I’m certainly tempted every time I dine at Vinny Vanucchi’s!
