I’ve eaten pizza in some of the most renowned places all around the world, from Italy to New York City. Now, it’s Hudson Valley’s turn to get my attention. I’ve reviewed twelve pizzerias in the area and have a funny and lighthearted take on which one stands out as the very best.
Stay tuned for an entertaining journey through inadequate cheese ratios, soggy crusts, and the triumphant slice that tops them all!

#1 Pizzeria Posto
- Nice tourist spot
- Has some vegetarian options
- Offers dessert
- Serves alcohol
- No delivery
To start off, the atmosphere of this place is top-notch. Not only is it a prime tourist spot for visitors in the area, but it also serves as a great hangout spot for locals.
The menu was jam-packed with various options and I had no problem finding something to suit my tastes. Vegetarians will be happy to know that Pizzeria Posto offers many vegetarian options, including a delicious gluten-free crust that has won rave reviews from everyone I’ve spoken to who’s tried it!
But let’s get to the important part – the pizza! The pizzas here are some of the best I’ve had anywhere in the world. They have a unique crust that’s crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with plenty of tangy tomato sauce and melted cheese that make each slice a masterpiece on its own. To top it all off, Pizzeria Posto also has an impressive selection of wine and beer which pairs perfectly with your meal.
My only complaint about Pizzeria Posto would have to be that they don’t offer delivery – but hey, sometimes you just have to jump in your car and drive for great pizza! All things considered, I’d definitely recommend Pizzeria Posto if you’re ever in Hudson Valley – it’ll be worth every kilometer you travel!

#2 Lolita’s Pizza
- Serves alcohol (and hard liquor!)
- Nice tourist spot
- Has some vegetarian options
- Offers dessert
When I entered the restaurant, I was taken aback by the cozy atmosphere. The brightly lit dining area was perfect for a group of friends or even a romantic dinner. And the smell of freshly baked pizza in the air made my mouth water with anticipation.
As soon as we got our seat, one of the wait staff came over and asked us what we wanted to order. We opted for their signature pizza, “The Lolita’s Special”, which had an abundance of toppings! The combination of red sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and onions was divine. Every bite melted in my mouth and satisfied my cravings for Italian goodness.
But that wasn’t all that this restaurant offered. We also ordered some appetizers; namely Garlic Bread Sticks covered in a garlic and parmesan mixture and calamari rings drenched with hot sauce! They were both so delicious that I’m already looking forward to going back again soon to sample more of their amazing fare!
To conclude this review, I can honestly say that if you’re ever looking for some of the best pizza in Hudson Valley than look no further than Lolita’s Pizza!
#3 Hudson & Packard
- Serves alcohol
- Offers dessert
As soon as I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted by the friendly staff and a delicious aroma of cheese, sauce and Italian herbs. I grabbed a seat in the cozy dining area and took in the atmosphere, which had been designed to be warm and inviting.
The menu at Hudson & Packard boasted some great options for pizza lovers like myself. There were classic pies like pepperoni and mushroom, as well as more creative toppings such as feta-olive and buffalo chicken. After much deliberation (and several helpings of breadsticks!) I decided on two specialties: The Meat Lover’s Pizza with its generous amount of sausage, ham, salami, bacon, pepperoni and mozzarella; and the Smoky Eggplant Pie with its mix of smoky eggplant puree, ricotta cheese and fresh basil.
The pizzas arrived quickly, plated on thick wooden boards that lent an air of rustic elegance to the meal. The flavors of each pie were layered in complexity but harmoniously combined; my taste buds were in heaven! The crust was perfectly cooked through with just a hint of crispness that helped bring out the savory flavors further.
I would highly recommend Hudson & Packard to anyone looking for amazing pizza in the valley. In my opinion this is hands down some of the best pizza I’ve ever had!
#4 Martio’s Pizza

- Has a kid’s menu
The atmosphere at Martio’s is certainly unique. It has the perfect mix of casual and cozy. The walls are adorned with vintage movie posters, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a delicious pizza while reminiscing on the good ol’ days.
When it comes to the food, they definitely don’t disappoint. They use only the freshest ingredients, so you can be sure that every bite will be loaded with flavor! Their signature pies are absolutely amazing; I recommend trying their ‘Mighty Meaty’ – it’s a delectable combination of various meats, fresh vegetables and gooey cheese all piled on top of a delicious thin-crust pizza. Not to mention, their crusts are made from scratch daily, which makes for a light and crispy delight!
In my opinion, Martio’s Pizza is simply unmatched when it comes to finding the best pizza in Hudson Valley. When you’re looking for an evening out that won’t break your budget, then this is the place to go!

I was surprised as I walked in by the cozy atmosphere – they really went all out with the decor! The walls were covered with framed pictures of Italy, and even a few autographs from some famous Italian chefs – it gave the place an authentic feel.
The menu had a lot more than just pizza on it – from chicken parmesan to calzones and even desserts like tiramisu and cannolis. But let’s get to what matters most here: the pizza.
I ordered a large pepperoni pie, which was good but nothing special. However, after trying their signature “Paulina Pie”, I was blown away! It had all the classic flavors of an Italian pizzeria, plus a few special touches that set it apart from other places. The toppings were fresh, the crust was crunchy, and the cheese melted perfectly to create an amazing flavor combination.
