- Has some vegetarian options
- Has insanely good dessert
- Serves alcohol (and hard liquor!)
The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. When I arrived, I could smell the delicious aroma of freshly baked, hand-tossed dough. My mouth instantly began to water in anticipation.
I opted for a classic pepperoni pie, and let me tell you – it was incredible! The crust was the perfect combination of crispy yet chewy with just the right amount of char. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the cheese melted in your mouth like butter. Then there were the toppings: lots of fresh diced pepperonis that provided that perfect salty/savory flavor balance that only great pizzas can achieve.
Overall, Manetta’s easily earned its spot at the top of my list for best pizza on Long Island City – I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good slice!
#7 Sunnyside Pizza
- Nice tourist spot
The restaurant itself isn’t much to look at, but that’s part of its charm. Inside, you’ll find a warm family atmosphere and lots of happy customers – which gives away the quality of their food immediately.
I started my meal with one of their signature pies, the Grandma Pie. The crust was light, yet chewy, and the sauce was so flavorful, it reminded me of a fond childhood memory. To top it off (literally!), there was a generous helping of gooey cheese and fresh veggies – all adding up to an amazing combination that had me licking my plate clean!
My second pizza was the White Clam Pie. Again, the thin crust was superbly baked to perfection in their wood-fired ovens. Generous chunks of succulent clams were tucked between garlicky bits of spinach and creamy ricotta cheese – making it hard for me not to order seconds!
All in all, I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Sunnyside Pizza. From the cozy atmosphere to the delicious pizzas, this restaurant is one you shouldn’t miss if you’re ever in Long Island City. When I stepped into the restaurant, I was in awe of the classic New York City vibes. Walking past brick walls and faded, vintage posters, I was convinced that I had made the right choice.
At Luzzo’s, they make their pizza like an artist makes his paintings: with patience and attention to detail. From what I could see in the kitchen, there were several marinara sauces simmering away in large pots and a multitude of freshly chopped vegetables ready to top off each pie.
The pizza itself was thick and loaded with toppings. The cheese was gooey and melted perfectly onto each slice. The crust was crispy on the outside but still fluffy on the inside – just how a perfect pizza crust should be!

Best Deep Dish Pizza – UNO Pizzeria & Grill
- Has insanely good dessert
- Nice tourist spot
- Great place to watch sports
- Serves alcohol (and hard liquor!)
- Has some vegetarian options
Walking into UNO Pizzeria & Grill is like stepping into a parallel universe where pizza is revered and worshipped. The moment I entered, my senses were immediately assaulted by the tantalizing aroma of fresh dough and melted cheese. My taste buds couldn’t contain their excitement, and neither could my waistline!
As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I’ve had my fair share of deep dish, but UNO’s version left me weak at the knees (and not just because of the sheer caloric intake). The crust, oh the crust! It was like a buttery, flaky embrace from an Italian grandmother who wants nothing more than to make you forget your waistline woes.
And the cheese? It oozed with such reckless abandon that I couldn’t help but feel like I was committing a crime by devouring it. But like a true rebel, I shrugged off the guilt and continued my indulgence. The toppings were piled high, as if each slice was competing in a skyscraper-building contest. I found myself marveling at the engineering feat that was my plate of pizza.
The best part? The staff at UNO’s understood my pizza obsession. They didn’t judge when I ordered a second, or third, or fourth slice. They applauded my dedication to the art of pizza consumption and even cheered me on as I embarked on a personal pizza-eating challenge.
So, if you find yourself in Queens and craving a deep dish pizza that will make you question everything you thought you knew about pie, do yourself a favor and head straight to UNO Pizzeria & Grill. Prepare to be amazed, delighted, and thoroughly stuffed.
Best Thin Crust Pizza – Lucia Pizza
- Nice tourist spot
- Does not accept reservations
Walking into Lucia Pizza is like entering a pizza lover’s paradise. I swear, the smell alone could make even the strictest dieter throw caution to the wind and dive headfirst into a gooey cheese-filled pie. And let me tell you, it’s worth every cheesy bite!
Now, let’s talk about the downside. Lucia Pizza has a no reservations policy. I mean, seriously? Do they not know who I am? (Just kidding, I’m not that big of a deal). So, instead of reserving a table like a civilized human being, you have to risk it and pray there’s an empty table when you arrive. I suggest going on a weekday if you don’t want to spend your evening pacing outside the restaurant like a peckish penguin.
But all jokes aside, Lucia Pizza is a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it gets. The thin crust is the stuff dreams are made of – crispy on the outside, yet still chewy on the inside, just like a perfectly toasted marshmallow. And the toppings? You can’t go wrong with any choice! Whether you’re a classic margherita lover or a wild mushroom aficionado, Lucia has got you covered.
So take my advice, folks. If you find yourself in queens ny and in need of some seriously stellar pizza, head on over to Lucia Pizza. Just make sure to bring your patience and an empty stomach because this place is worth the wait!
Best Wood Fired Pizza – Tauro Wood Fired Pizza
As soon as I walked into Tauro Wood Fired Pizza, my senses were hit with the intoxicating smell of delicious pizza. I could practically hear my taste buds cheering in excitement. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and rustic, with a beautiful wood-fired oven as the centerpiece. It was love at first sight.
The menu was a delightful symphony of pizza creations. From classics like Margherita and Pepperoni, to more adventurous options like Truffle Mushroom and Prosciutto Fig, Tauro had something for everyone. As a food critic, I pride myself on being adventurous, so I decided to go for the Prosciutto Fig pizza. And boy, did it take my taste buds on a wild ride!
The first bite transported me to flavor heaven. The crispy, thin crust was the perfect canvas for the explosion of flavors. The sweet and salty combination of prosciutto and fresh figs was a match made in cheesy heaven. Each bite left me craving more. I couldn’t help but imagine how jealous my taste buds would be if they discovered I had been cheating on them with Tauro Wood Fired Pizza.
The service at Tauro was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and had the perfect balance of professionalism and lightheartedness. They made me feel like I was dining with old friends, which is always a bonus when you’re traveling solo.
In conclusion, Tauro Wood Fired Pizza is not just another pizza joint. It is a slice of pizza paradise in San Francisco. So if you find yourself craving the best wood-fired pizza in town, stop by Tauro and let your taste buds embark on a magical pizza journey. Trust me, they’ll thank you for it!
