I love a good slice, so I set out to find the best places to get pizza in Lynchburg. After visiting twelve different pizza spots, I decided that these ones were the tastiest.

My job takes me all over the world tasting pizza, so it was fun getting to explore some new ones here. Now I’m ready to share my findings with you and let you know which ones are the best!

#1 5th street Vito’s

When I visited the restaurant, the first thing that caught my eye was the rustic yet modern decor. The inviting atmosphere welcomed me in, and I knew at once that I was in for a treat.

The pizzas themselves were unbelievable! The crust was perfectly cooked to be simultaneously crispy and chewy. Toppings were generous and flavorful; each bite brought a unique explosion of flavors on my palate. I especially enjoyed their pepperoni pizza – the combination of spices from the pepperoni and cheese is truly unbeatable. It’s no wonder why this place has grown such an avid fan base over the years!

Service was friendly and quick, making sure that my experience at 5th Street Vito’s was pleasant from start to finish. On top of that, their prices are very reasonable considering how high-quality the food is here.

The atmosphere at Sourdough Pizza is inviting and friendly. The staff are always upbeat and happy to serve you. The pizza itself was delicious! The dough had a great sourdough flavor that blended perfectly with the other toppings. For my particular order, I went for a classic pepperoni and it was cooked to absolute perfection with just enough crunch on the outside and a soft, chewy center.

The ingredients were also top notch. They use fresh vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions to top their pizzas and they don’t skimp on the cheese either! The mozzarella cheese used was of such high quality; it added an extra layer of delightfulness to my pizza experience.

I was really taken aback when I entered the restaurant. Not only was it inviting and cozy, but the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They never once complained about accommodating my relentless requests for “just a little extra cheese” or “some extra spices”.

It seemed that no matter what topping combination I asked for, they could make it happen without compromising the quality of their pizza – which came highly recommended by locals. I could tell that they had spent time perfecting their menu to ensure only the best flavors made it onto every single pizza.

The dough also deserves an honorable mention for its delicious flavor and texture. It wasn’t too thick, not too thin – just how I like my pizza! The toppings were abundant, fresh and flavorful, making each bite as delicious as the last.

#4 Blaze Pizza

The moment I stepped into Blaze Pizza, the unique atmosphere caught my eye. The exposed brick walls and wood burning oven gave it a rustic vibe that felt like I was in an authentic Italian pizzeria. And the smell of freshly made pizza was like a gentle reminder of why I’m here!

I ordered the “Create Your Own” with thin crust and all my favorite toppings. It didn’t take long for my pizza to arrive – hot and bubbling out of their wood burning oven.

It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! The thin crust was light and crispy, yet still able to hold up to all the weight of the toppings – which were plentiful! The sauce was flavorful, but not too strong, and there wasn’t too much cheese on top. It was just perfect.

But what really made this pizza stand out from other places was that every bite tasted like it had been made with love. Indeed, as soon as my first bite hit my tongue I knew that this was some of the best pizza in Lynchburg VA! four stars out of five from this traveling food critic!

#5 Upper Crust Pizza

I had the pleasure of experiencing their pizza firsthand and it was simply amazing – the crust was cooked to perfection with a slight crunch, yet still soft and chewy in all the right places. The sauce was flavorful and blended perfectly with the toppings. And oh, the toppings! The flavor combinations on this pizza were top notch – each topping complimenting one another perfectly.

The atmosphere was also great – the restaurant itself is small but cozy, making it perfect for an intimate dinner or a fun night out with friends. It’s definitely one of my favorite places in Lynchburg VA!

Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some of the best pizza in town. They offer tastes from around the world as well as classic Italian pies so everyone will find something that they enjoy here. With its delicious food, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff, Upper Crust Pizza makes for an unforgettable dining experience!

#6 Waterstone Pizza

As soon as I stepped in the door, I knew this was a place to get some delicious pizza. The smells of cheese, sauce, and freshly baked dough filled the air and set my mouth watering.

The atmosphere was great, too. Waterstone Pizza has cozy booths and tables where you can sit down in comfort and enjoy your meal. Plus, the staff were so friendly that it felt like home.

But, of course, the most important part of my review is the food! And let me tell you–I was not disappointed. Every bite of their thin crust pizza was bursting with flavor. The cheese was melted to perfection and the toppings were top notch–from the classic pepperoni to their signature ‘Tuscan’ pizza with artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes, feta cheese and pesto sauce.

All in all, Waterstone Pizza is a must-try for anyone looking for great pizza in Lynchburg VA! They have become one of my favorite spots for pizza every time I’m in town!

#7 Rivermont Pizza

What sets Rivermont Pizza apart from the competition? Well, for starters, it has a charming and cozy atmosphere. The kitchen is open so you can watch your pizza being made with fresh ingredients and there’s a vintage oven that adds to the overall feel of the place.

The pizzas here are nothing short of spectacular! I had a classic pepperoni and it was loaded with the perfect amount of cheese, sauce, and toppings. The crust was light and airy – yet crunchy on the outside – just like a traditional Italian pizza should be. Every bite was an absolute delight!

I’m not exaggerating when I say that Rivermont Pizza offers some of the best pizza in Lynchburg VA. If you haven’t been there yet, I highly recommend making time for a visit!

#8 Benny Scarpetta’s

From the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant, I knew I was in for a culinary treat. The atmosphere was inviting and welcoming, and the amazing aromas wafting from the kitchen had my mouth watering.

The waitstaff was friendly and attentive, quickly delivering a piping hot cheese pizza. It tasted even better than it looked! The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just enough sauce to make each bite juicy and satisfying. The cheese was plentiful as well – so much that it almost dribbled off the slice when I picked it up!

To top it all off, Benny Scarpetta’s has some of the freshest toppings around. From mushrooms to pepperoni to roasted peppers, they have something for everyone. And since they make their own sauces, you won’t find a more flavorful pizza anywhere else.

#9 Brothers Pizza & Grill

The first time I stepped inside, I knew I had come to the right place. The atmosphere is charming and cozy – perfect for eating pizza! The staff is friendly, and they made me feel welcomed from the start.

Now on to the pizza! Brothers Pizza & Grill offers all types of delicious pizzas like everything from classic cheese to veggie and even gourmet options. Every single slice was cooked perfectly and tasted divine. What really set their pizza apart for me was that it wasn’t greasy like some other pizzas can be – instead, each bite was full of flavor and not too heavy.

My favorite thing about Brothers Pizza & Grill was how they were able to accommodate my gluten-free needs without making a big deal out of it. The crusts are all made fresh onsite and they were very knowledgeable about my dietary needs.

All in all, I’m beyond impressed with Brothers Pizza & Grill – this is definitely the best pizza in Lynchburg VA!

#10 Mellow Mushroom Lynchburg

The atmosphere was a perfect balance of being cozy and inviting. The decor provided a nice touch of music and art which made the experience really enjoyable.

The pizza itself was nothing short of spectacular. The dough was cooked to perfection, with a lightly crisp crust that balanced beautifully with the fresh and delicious toppings. I could tell that each ingredient was chosen carefully, as it complimented all of the other flavors perfectly!

The service left nothing to be desired either. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items, which is always greatly appreciated when eating out!

All in all, my dining experience at Mellow Mushroom Lynchburg was absolutely amazing. It’s no surprise why this spot has become one of my favorite places to get pizza in Lynchburg VA – it’s definitely worth a visit!

#11 La Villa Italian Restaurant

The restaurant is a small, family-run joint with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I felt like one of the locals as soon as I stepped through the door.

The pizza was nothing short of amazing. I’m usually a fan of thin crust, but La Villa’s thick crust was delicious! The sauce and cheese were perfectly blended together, creating that perfect balance you look for in a great pizza. And the toppings were top-notch—the pepperoni was spicy and flavorful, while the mushrooms and onions added the perfect crunch.

I had the pleasure of trying their house special, which came with extra cheese and sausage… it was heavenly! The service was great too—they brought my pie quickly without skimping on quality.

#12 Ledo Pizza

The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, making it a great place to bring the whole family. They have a kid’s menu, plus they serve alcohol (and hard liquor!) for the adults. I also appreciated that they had some vegetarian options available—not every pizza place can say the same! The real highlight here though was their dessert offerings.

What really makes Ledo Pizza stand out from other pizza places is that they’ve done a fantastic job of blending traditional ingredients with modern pizzas. This means everyone in your group should be able to find something they like. So if you’re looking for the best pizza in Lynchburg VA, this is definitely your spot!

My biggest downside is that there’s no delivery—but that didn’t stop me from having the most delicious pizza ever!
