#3 Caffé Vesuvio
- Has a kid’s menu
- Nice tourist spot
- Offers dessert
- Serves alcohol
I’ll be honest, the storefront of Caffé Vesuvio doesn’t give one high hopes. It looks like an unassuming little café, but don’t let that fool you. What’s inside is anything but standard issue fare.
My experience started as soon as I stepped foot in the door and was met with a warm welcome from the staff. They were incredibly knowledgeable about their product, and recommended I try their famous San Marzano tomato pie. Wow! Trust me when I say it lived up to its reputation – crusty perfection and just enough cheese to top it all off.
I then decided to sample one of their specialty pies – the salami and ricotta pizza. This was something special – each slice tasted like Italy had been imported right into my mouth! The salty salami and creamy ricotta balanced out perfectly with the sauce and cheese. To top it all off, even the vegetables had a flavorful kick that tied everything together.
Bottom line? If you’re looking for some of the best pizza in New Smyrna Beach, Caffé Vesuvio is well worth a visit! The atmosphere here is cozy, the service is friendly, and above all else, the food tastes great!
