#1 Good Old Days Pizza & Cocktail Den
- Offers dessert
- Serves alcohol (and hard liquor!)
The atmosphere of the restaurant is great – a mix of classic and modern style with lots of neon lights. And their selection of craft cocktails was pretty impressive, too.
But for me, the biggest selling point at Good Old Days is definitely their pizza. They have some serious Neapolitan-style pies that are sure to satisfy even the pickiest pizza connoisseur! Their crust had a perfect crunch and their toppings were top-notch. I especially enjoyed the smoked pepperoni and spicy sausage pieces they added – a nice touch!
Their prices may seem a bit high compared to other local pizzerias, but they’re well worth it. The quality here is unbeatable. Plus, you get your money’s worth with plenty of leftovers (at least I did).
Overall, Good Old Days Pizza & Cocktail Den is an excellent choice if you’re looking for the best pizza in Newtown CT. Whether you’re on a date or just grabbing a quick bite, it’s an experience you won’t soon forget!

#2 Nick’s Catering
The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I could tell this place was all about pizza. The tantalizing aromas of freshly prepared pies were everywhere, and the staff were friendly and excited to serve me.
I took my seat at a table near the back, and went right for their specialty – a large pepperoni pizza with garlic crust. As soon as it arrived, my mouth began to water – so much flavor in one little pie! The dough was thin and crispy around the edges, while still remaining soft and tender throughout. The generous amount of cheese was melted perfectly and complimented by just the right amount of sauce. Top that off with plump pepperoni slices arranged artistically on top – pure perfection!
And let’s not forget about side dish options like cheesesticks, salads and garlic breadsticks that take your meal from great to extraordinary!

The atmosphere was inviting and family-friendly. I had to fight the urge to linger too long, since I was there strictly for business! But it was just that good.
The pizza was simply divine. The crust was the perfect combination of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The cheese was gooey and flavorful, with a hint of smokiness from their wood-fired oven. Toppings were fresh and plentiful—there was something for everyone!
I even got to try one of their signature pies: “The Donut Pie.” It’s a pizza crust made from doughnuts, cream cheese topping, bacon bits, and Italian sausage. Delicious! If you’re looking for something truly unique in taste and texture, this is definitely worth a try.
All in all, Project Pizza is well worth a visit if you find yourself in Newtown CT looking for an amazing slice of pie. I give it five stars (out of five), hands down the best pizza in town!
