I had the opportunity to try 12 different pizza places in Rockville, and I’m thrilled to report back on my findings. Now, these aren’t official ratings or anything; it’s just a food critic with an opinion and a sharp set of taste buds. My goal is to have some fun while also pointing out the best pizza these rockin’ restaurants have to offer.

#1 Ema Rossi Pizzeria

The pizza was outstanding. The crust was thin and perfectly crisp, with the perfect amount of char on it. The cheese was flavorful and gooey, melted just right and flavored with a rich tomato sauce. The toppings were plentiful, fresh, and delicious. It was definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.

I also tasted the garlic knots – they were light, fluffy, and extremely flavorful! They reminded me of the garlic knots I had in Rome back in ’97. I can’t believe how good they still are!

My experience at Ema Rossi Pizzeria went beyond just the food. The server was polite and friendly throughout my entire meal, making sure that my needs were met during each course. The atmosphere was very relaxed and inviting – it really felt like a family-owned business where everyone is welcome!

Ema Rossi Pizzeria has earned their title as having some of the best pizza in Rockville MD! Everything about my dining experience exceeded expectations from start to finish – from the amazing food to the exceptional service – it truly made for a memorable evening. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Italian experience!

#2 Jonathan’s Publick House

To start, I tasted their signature dish—the Supreme. It was delicious! The crust was perfectly thin and crisp, with just the right amount of savory sauce spread on top. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, from the tomatoes and onions to the chunks of pepperoni and sausage.

Next, I tried their special creation: a thin-crust pizza topped with sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and olives. The crust was so light and tasty—it melted in my mouth! The sautéed vegetables added a nice kick of flavor that really balanced the saltiness of the olives.

Finally, I had one last slice: a classic Margherita pizza with mozzarella cheese and tomato slices. This time, the crust was even thinner than before. And oh man…the cheese was out of this world! Creamy and gooey, it blended perfectly with the sweetness of the tomatoes for an unforgettable combination.

Overall, Jonathan’s Publick House is hands down one of the best pizzerias in Rockville MD! Whether you’re looking for something simple or more adventurous, you’ll find something to love here—all made from fresh ingredients and prepared to perfection!

#3 Gregorio’s Trattoria

I was delighted at the friendly and attentive service I received upon arriving. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, and I knew right away that this would be a great pizza experience.

The best part, of course, was the pizza itself. It was cooked to perfection and had just the right balance of crunchy crust and soft, savory toppings. The combination of flavors was so delicious, I’m still dreaming about it days later!

To start, the service was impeccable. Our server welcomed us with a smile and right away we could tell that the staff here really cares about providing an excellent experience.

The pizza was incredible! The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, the cheese to tomato ratio was spot on, and the sauces were a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. All in all, it was delicious.

But what really sets CS New York Pizza apart from the competition is their use of high quality ingredients such as locally sourced vegetables and premium meats. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful – there’s no comparison!

Overall, I highly recommend CS New York Pizza for anyone searching for the best pizza in Rockville MD! Whether you’re looking for an amazing dine-in experience or just want to grab some take out, they have you covered.

#5 MOD Pizza

I was immediately taken aback by the welcoming atmosphere when I walked in the door. From the cheery staff to the open kitchen, it made me feel like I was at home. The menu is full of great options for both vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. I opted for their classic pepperoni pizza, which was outstanding! A generous layer of cheese, a nice salty crust and an excellent sauce – it had all the elements of a great pizza.

I’m usually not one for over-the-top praise but MOD Pizza definitely deserves it! Their pizzas are simply divine! They use fresh ingredients and cook them up perfectly. What really sets them apart is their attention to detail – even the most seemingly insignificant ingredients are chosen with care. The level of quality they offer is unmatched in Rockville MD.

The only downside? You may have to fight off other customers to get your spot in line! But trust me – it’s definitely worth fighting for one of their delicious creations. In my opinion, MOD Pizza is easily the best pizza joint in Rockville MD!

#6 Angelo’s Pizza Pasta and Deli

I was hesitant at first when I read the menu, because it sounded like your average pizza joint. But, boy was I wrong! From the first bite to the last, this place is a slice of heaven on Earth.

The pies are cooked to perfection with delicious, freshly made ingredients that would make any Italian proud. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable – it’s like walking into an old friend’s house for dinner!

Of course, if pizza isn’t your thing, you can sample some of their other entrees such as pastas and deli sandwiches. And don’t forget about their desserts – they are simply divine!

My suggestion? Make Angelo’s Pizza Pasta and Deli your go-to spot for all things cheesy and savory in Rockville MD – you won’t be sorry.

#7 Fontina Grille

On my visit to the Fontina Grille, I was immediately drawn in by the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. The restaurant had a nice, rustic feel, with large wooden tables and a stately fireplace. I could tell that I was in for something special.

The pizza was delicious! The thin crust had just the right amount of crunch, and the combination of herbs, spices and cheese created a flavor that was unlike any other pizza I’d ever had. Despite being hungry from my travels, I still found myself savoring every bite so as not to miss out on anything.

But what really made this experience extraordinary were the people who work at Fontina Grille and their attention to detail! From the moment I stepped foot in the door they went out of their way to make sure I felt welcome and enjoyed my meal. It turns out they’re all very passionate about pizza – almost as if they were born to make it!

If you’re looking for a great pizza experience in Rockville MD or anywhere else, you owe it to yourself to visit Fontina Grille – it’s simply the best!

#8 Giuseppi’s Pizza Plus

From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this was a top-notch pizza joint. The interior of the restaurant is charming and inviting, with warm wood-paneled walls, tables adorned with bright tablecloths, and an open kitchen where the chefs can be seen working their magic.

The selection at Giuseppi’s Pizza Plus is impressive as well. They offer specialty pizzas like Spicy Hawaiian, BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, and Mac ‘n’ Cheese. There are also classic favorites like Pepperoni and Margherita available. There’s truly something for everyone!

But what really sets Giuseppi’s Pizza Plus apart from the rest is their commitment to quality ingredients. Every pizza is made with organic tomatoes from local farmers, freshly shredded mozzarella cheese, and homemade dough. The tomatoes are so sweet and flavorful that you don’t even need to add extra sauce!

I was especially impressed with how the chefs managed to make my gluten free pizza look exactly like its more traditional counterparts. Flavorful toppings were generously sprinkled on top of a perfect crust that held up nicely despite having no wheat flour in it.

All in all, Giuseppi’s Pizza Plus deserves its title as one of the best pizza joints in Rockville MD! Don’t take my word for it though – stop by and taste it yourself!

#9 Vocelli Pizza

The first time I stepped into their store, I was immediately impressed with the quality of the ingredients and the standard of hygiene maintained. Plus, the staff were very friendly and helpful – it really enhanced the experience.

When I tried their pizza, I knew right away that this was going to be a memorable experience. The cheese was perfectly melted and stretchy, the sauce had just enough tang to balance out the richness of cheese and there were plenty of flavorful toppings that added an extra level of deliciousness.

What sealed my opinion on Vocelli Pizza being one of the best pizzas in Rockville MD was how thin and crispy the crust turned out to be – it actually rivaled some of my favorite pizzerias in Italy!

Overall, if you’re looking for an incredibly tasty pizza that hits all the right notes, then Vocelli Pizza is definitely worth your time and money. When it comes to pizza in Rockville MD, Vocelli Pizza is easily one of my personal favorites!

#10 Pieology Pizzeria, Gaithersburg, MD

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting; the staff are helpful and friendly. The best part of the experience, though, is the pizza. It’s mouthwatering and made with fresh ingredients. The dough is perfect – not too thick or too crunchy, just right! The cheese is gooey and melts in your mouth and all of the toppings are flavorful and cooked to perfection.

I’ve had a lot of great pizzas throughout my travels, but this one has blown me away. I’m confident in saying it’s some of the best pizza around Rockville MD! If you’re ever in town, you won’t regret spending an evening at Pieology Pizzeria.

#11 Armand’s Pizzeria & Grille

I was immediately impressed with their atmosphere – they have a cozy and inviting dining room where you can relax and savor your slice. The staff were super friendly – the owner Armand even came out to greet us himself!

The pizza here is simply divine. They offer a wide variety of toppings, including some truly unique combinations, like cranberry and brie! The crust is perfectly crispy and there’s just the right amount of sauce. It’s truly an experience you won’t soon forget.

#12 Sam’s Pizza & Subs

Best Deep Dish Pizza – Armand’s Pizzeria & Grille

As soon as I walked into Armand’s, I was hit by the delicious aroma of cheesy goodness. It was like a siren calling me to indulge, and who am I to resist such a tasty temptation? The place was buzzing with people, and I couldn’t help but feel like I was part of the secret pizza society.

As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I gravitate towards a solid crust. And let me tell you, Armand’s did not disappoint. The crust was so thick and golden, it could double as a flotation device in case of a pizza emergency at sea. I half expected a lifeguard to come out with a whistle and rescue us from drowning in the sea of cheese.

Speaking of cheese, it was piled on so generously that I felt like I was starring in a dairy commercial. There were layers upon layers of gooey, stretchy, cheesy goodness. I swear I saw the top layer wave at me as I took my first bite.

The toppings were also on point. I opted for the classic pepperoni, and boy, was it a party in my mouth. Each bite was like a burst of flavor, a celebration of meaty, spicy goodness.

I must say, after my first bite, I felt like I had reached pizza nirvana. If you’re in the mood for a deep dish pizza that will make your taste buds scream with joy, Armand’s Pizzeria & Grille is the place for you.
