When I first stepped into Mountain Mike’s, I was overwhelmed with the delicious smell of freshly cooked pizza. After a few moments of looking around, I realized that they were making their pizza right there in the restaurant in traditional Italian fashion!

My first bite was heavenly – it had a perfect balance of crust and sauce, and the cheese melted just right. The toppings were plentiful but not overwhelming – just how I like it! The staff was friendly and accommodating; they even let me sample a few different pizzas before deciding on my favorite.

I’m happy to say that after trying all sorts of amazing pizza from different restaurants across the world, Mountain Mike’s Pizza is hands-down the best pizza in San Mateo. If you’re ever nearby and have a hankering for some truly delicious pizza, I highly recommend you give them a try!

#2 Golden Boy Pizza

The atmosphere was exactly what I was expecting: casual, inviting and filled with a variety of people. The staff were friendly and attentive, quickly taking orders and ensuring that everyone had all they needed.

Now, on to the pizza. It’s incredible! The crust was light and fluffy, perhaps the most delicious dough I’ve ever tasted while on my travels – no small feat! The toppings were generous and the flavors blended together perfectly.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was overwhelmed by the inviting atmosphere and pleasant staff. The décor is bright and cheerful with a great selection of music playing in the background.

Their service is top notch as well. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to share their pizza making secrets with customers if you ask – which I did! They also allow customers to create their own custom pies from a variety of toppings, so there’s something for everyone.

The atmosphere is lively and fun with outdoor seating, live music on the weekends and an array of local craft beers on tap. I had great conversations with other diners as we all enjoyed our meals together.
