I’ve had the opportunity to sample pizza from 12 different restaurants in the area, and after a lot of research (and lots of eating!), I’m excited to present you with my picks for the best pizza in Surfside Beach SC.

My criteria for selecting the top places was based on quality of ingredients, unique flavor combinations, and overall experience. I’m doing this because great pizza is something everyone should be able to enjoy, no matter where they’re from.

#1 Surfside Beach Pizza

The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere. The family-run pizzeria is beautifully decorated and full of positive energy with all the locals stopping in for a delicious slice.

I chose the classic pepperoni pizza topped with cheese, tomato sauce, and oregano and I could tell from the first bite that it was truly something special. The crust had just the right amount of crunchiness, while the toppings were bursting with flavor. In short, it was absolutely delicious!

But apart from their excellent pizza, what really stood out to me was the service. The staff are friendly and attentive, always willing to give advice on their menu or recommend a great beer pairing. Plus, they’re always ready to serve up a hot slice to go as well!

All in all, Surfside Beach Pizza is my favorite place to get a delicious pie and an enjoyable experience – definitely worth a visit!

#2 Dough Boys NY Style Pizzeria

From the moment I walked in, the aromas of freshly baked pizza filled the air. The restaurant itself was on a beach, which made it even more inviting! The staff were friendly and welcoming and it was clear they take pride in their food.

The pizza selection was impressive, with a great selection of classic New York style pizzas as well as innovative specialties. After trying the Margherita, I knew I had found something special. The dough was light and fluffy with just the right amount of chewiness – my kind of pizza!

The toppings were generous and included both unique flavors and combinations as well as classic favorites. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and flavorful without tasting overly salty or greasy – another mark of a great pizza joint.

Overall, I am happy to say that Dough Boys NY Style Pizzeria has earned its spot as one of the best pizzerias in Surfside Beach! Their delicious pies make this place an absolute must-try for all pizza lovers out there!

#3 Island Bar & Grill

I visited this restaurant not knowing what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised by their selection of drinks. Not only did they serve beer, but they also had a great selection of hard liquor. Just what the pizza doctor ordered!

Apart from being an excellent spot for a drink or two, Island Bar & Grill is also the perfect tourist spot. There’s something magical about watching the waves roll in while munching away on some delicious pizza.

Moreover, this place is a great spot to watch your favorite sports game with friends. One time I watched my favorite team play while drinking a nice cold one – it was awesome!

My only issue with Island Bar & Grill is that they don’t have delivery service. That would have been really handy for those late-night cravings!

All in all, Island Bar & Grill has some of the best pizza in Surfside Beach and should definitely be given a try when visiting this amazing coastal city.

#4 Casa Calamari

Upon entering Casa Calamari, I was immediately taken aback by the delicious smell and inviting atmosphere. The casually elegant restaurant feels like a beachside oasis, complete with calming waterfront views that made me feel surprisingly relaxed despite the high culinary stakes.

Then came the pizza. Casa Calamari truly takes the cake when it comes to great-tasting pies. The dough is crafted to perfection – light and airy, yet deliciously crispy around the edges – with a range of toppings and sauces that will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. I’m especially partial to their traditional margherita pie with fresh buffalo mozzarella, but every combination I’ve sampled has been top-notch.

The service at Casa Calamari is also incredibly attentive and friendly, taking extra care to make sure your meal experience is perfect. With an ever-changing menu of specialty pizzas on offer and an unbeatable location right by the beach, this place definitely lives up to its reputation as one of Surfside Beach’s best purveyors of pizza. So if you’re looking for a delicious slice of pizza paradise, look no further than Casa Calamari!

#5 MOD Pizza

When I arrived at MOD Pizza, I was pleasantly surprised by their modern decor and well-lit dining area. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to my every need.

Their wide selection of pizzas made it hard for me to decide which one I wanted to sample first! In the end, I chose the spicy pepperoni pizza and it exceeded all my expectations. The crust was just the right thickness and their tomato sauce added a delicious depth of flavor. And the pepperoni was cooked perfectly!

I also loved the variety of toppings available – from roasted mushrooms to red onions to diced jalapenos – so everyone can find something they like here.

All in all, no matter how picky you are when it comes to pizza, you’ll be more than satisfied with your meal here at MOD Pizza. In my opinion, they truly have some of the best pizza in Surfside Beach!

#6 Lazer’s Pizza

I was truly amazed. Not only was the pizza fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, but the atmosphere was cozy and inviting too! The staff were friendly and attentive to my every need and made sure I felt at home.

The menu had so many delicious options it was hard to choose just one. I opted for a classic pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Along with the pie, I enjoyed some garlic knots and a refreshing fountain drink – all of which were top notch.

At Lazer’s Pizza, they really know how to serve up their customers with the best pizza in Surfside Beach in style. All the food is fresh and made-to-order, service is excellent and prices are affordable. With that being said, it may have just become my favorite place for pizza around town!

#7 Ginos Real NY Pizza

When I walked in, the friendly staff welcomed me with open arms and a smile. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I looked around at all the pictures of previous customers enjoying their pizza and I knew that I had chosen a great spot.

The menu was expansive, featuring pizza styles from classic New York-style to Sicilian deep dish—all made with fresh, local ingredients. After much deliberation, I decided to try the signature special—a three cheese blend of mozzarella, provolone and Parmigiano Reggiano on top of lightly cooked tomato sauce.

My first bite was pure bliss! The crust was perfectly crispy yet still chewy enough to enjoy. The sauce was flavorful but not overwhelming or acidic—something that a lot of other restaurants seem to forget about. As for the cheese blend, it complemented every bite perfectly—just salty enough without being overpowering.

All in all, diners looking for an unforgettable pizza experience should definitely head over to Ginos Real NY Pizza. With its attentive staff and delicious pies, it truly is has some of the best pizza in Surfside Beach!

#8 Ultimate California Pizza

As a food critic, I was impressed by their huge selection of pizzas featuring classic flavors and exciting twists like artichoke and jalapeno. Plus, there are plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options to choose from.

Better yet, they also have a full bar with liquors and craft beers to help the pizza go down even smoother! Not to mention, this place is great spot for tourists or families with kids. There’s even a kid’s menu available so everyone can eat what they like.

And if you’re looking for some entertainment while you’re there, Ultimate California Pizza is a great spot for watching sports too!

It looks like this restaurant has it all – except delivery unfortunately. But with such delicious pizza and an atmosphere that can’t be beat, Ultimate California Pizza is definitely worth the trip!

#9 Spencerz Sports Bar

The pizza is cooked to perfection, the crust is crispy and flavourful, and the toppings are fresh and delicious. Not to mention, there’s also a full bar including hard liquor which means you can take your meal up a notch!

I was also pleasantly surprised by how cozy and inviting the atmosphere was despite it being a sports bar. They had several TVs turned on playing various sports games, making it the perfect place to watch while enjoying your food. It makes for a great spot if you’re looking for some good tourist attractions.

Where Spencerz Sports Bar takes a hit is in its lack of delivery services. That said, I found the quality of their restaurant more than makes up for this small downside – so if you’re out in Surfside Beach and in search of some amazing pizza – you need not look any further!

#10 Chicago Pizza

When I arrived at Chicago Pizza, I was instantly impressed. The warm and inviting atmosphere puts you in just the right frame of mind for a delicious pizza experience. The interior decor is bright and fun, and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The menu features all types of classic pizza favorites, as well as some unique combinations that you won’t find anywhere else. The pizzas are cooked to perfection, with a crisp crust and flavorful toppings that can’t be beat. One of my favorite choices is their signature deep dish pizza which has layers upon layers of cheese, pepperoni, onion and peppers. It’s simply divine!

Their sauces are delicious too – they offer everything from traditional red sauce to their special house made white sauce (which really makes the pizza!). All ingredients are fresh, so you know you’re getting quality food every time.

I’m glad that I stopped by Chicago Pizza to sample their best pizza in Surfside Beach – it truly lives up to its reputation! The experience was truly unforgettable and I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great slice of pizza.

#11 Anthony’s Pizza & Pan Pasta

The crust was perfectly baked and had a hint of garlic which added to the flavor. The marinara sauce was robust and flavorful, while the cheese was melty and creamy – all topped off with fresh vegetables. I couldn’t have asked for a better combination!

But wait, there’s more! Anthony’s also serves up delicious pasta dishes as well – everything from homemade lasagna to creamy Alfredo dishes. Not only that, but they have a variety of other Italian specialties as well, like antipasto salad and stuffed shells.

The atmosphere was great too; the music was lively, the staff friendly and welcoming, and the prices were affordable. All in all it was an enjoyable experience!

If you’re looking for some good pizza or Italian food in Surfside Beach, head to Anthony’s Pizza & Pan Pasta for some of the best pizza around!

#12 Di Carlos pizza

It’s conveniently located near the beach, so it’s the perfect spot for a quick lunch or dinner after a day at the beach. Plus, since it’s a tourist spot, you can easily find your way around and quickly get to your destination.

The pizza here is exceptional. Their combination of fresh, flavorful ingredients with their homemade dough makes for one mouth-watering experience. They use only the best mozzarella cheese and sauce to ensure that every bite is full of delicious flavor. The focaccia crust is especially tasty!

One thing I should mention, though – Di Carlos does not offer delivery or takeout services. You’ll have to enjoy this great pizza in-store if you want to get the full experience.
