#1 Gutters Bowling
I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical when I walked in. After all, this place is a bowling alley first and foremost! But to my surprise, the pizza was delicious!
The crust was thin and crispy, the cheese had a great flavor, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The secret ingredient seemed to be love – everything just tasted so much better than I expected.
The atmosphere of Gutters Bowling added to the experience as well. It’s like you can actually feel the history of this place; it makes for a great slice of nostalgia. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that there are countless bowling lanes and arcade games around if you get bored waiting for your pizza (as if!).
All in all, I’d highly recommend Gutters Bowling for anyone looking for the best pizza in Taos. You won’t be disappointed!

#2 Chalupp’s Pizza
- Nice tourist spot
I was immediately impressed with the interior décor—it’s definitely got that vintage Italian pizzeria vibe! The smell of garlic, oregano and cheese permeated throughout the restaurant and was delicious.
The menu is simple, but everything on it is expertly crafted. My favorite pizza (and the house specialty) is the Chalupp’s Special—it has pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and onion piled high on top of a red sauce-covered crust. It’s pure perfection! For those who want to take their pies to go, Chalupp’s offers both traditional and gluten-free crusts which makes them great for all occasions.
The staff at Chalupp’s were also very friendly and accommodating—they did everything they could to make our experience enjoyable. They even threw in a few complimentary appetizers when asked! All in all, Chalupp’s Pizza is definitely one of the best pizza places I’ve been to in Taos. If you’re looking for the highest quality pizza around this area, look no further—Chalupp’s has got you covered!
#3 Taos Mesa Brewing Taos Tap Room

The atmosphere there is really fun, with a full bar and large number of TVs so you can watch the game. Plus, you get to enjoy amazing pizza. The crust is thin and crispy, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. It’s the perfect spot for a casual evening with friends.
I did find one downside though: no delivery. But in my opinion, it’s worth making a trip out to Taos Mesa Brewing Taos Tap Room just to try their delicious pizzas! After all, they’re some of the best pizzas I’ve had in taos – or anywhere else for that matter.

#4 Pizanos
- Serves alcohol
- Offers dessert
- Has a kid’s menu
- Has some vegetarian options
- Nice tourist spot
- No delivery
The atmosphere was great – they even offer alcohol, so you can enjoy a strictly adult night out. Plus, they have a kid’s menu, which is always a plus when dining with the family. As for the vegetarian options, there were quite a few of them!
But of course, the real delight here is the pizza! Combining fresh ingredients with subtle flavors, Pizanos’ pies are hard to beat. I recommend their classic margherita pizza – it’s simply divine. Oh, and don’t forget to save room for dessert because this place has some amazing sweet treats too!
My only complaint about Pizanos is that they don’t deliver – but that’s more of an inconvenience than anything else. All in all, it was one of the best pizza experiences I’ve had in Taos!
#5 Taos Pizza Out Back
- Has insanely good dessert
- Serves alcohol
- Has a kid’s menu
- Has some vegetarian options
- Nice tourist spot
I can say without a doubt that the pizza here is fantastic! The crust is light and crispy, with just enough toppings to create the perfect flavor combination. Not too much cheese and just enough spice—just the way I like it.
The service was also excellent, with staff that were friendly and courteous. They made sure everything ran smoothly and helped me to understand all the different options available to me.
But let’s be honest—the pizza is the best part! With a range of classic and specialty flavors, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here. From the traditional Margherita to more exotic creations like their signature Pineapple-Ham-Jalapeño, you won’t go wrong. There are even vegan options too!
Taos Pizza Out Back also has a great atmosphere; with plenty of tables inside or out, you can always find a spot to sit down and enjoy some great pizza. And don’t forget about their other menu items; from appetizers like their spicy wings to salads and desserts, there’s something for everyone here.

#6 Mondo Italiano Taos
- Serves alcohol
- Has insanely good dessert
- Has a kid’s menu
- Has some vegetarian options
- Nice tourist spot
The first thing I noticed upon entering the restaurant was how warm and inviting it felt. The decor is modern, but classic, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The pizza menu at Mondo Italiano Taos is impressive, to say the least. The selection of toppings and sauces will please any palate, and I’m sure I could come up with something different every time I visit!
I ordered a pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and had it delivered to my hotel room – it arrived hot, fresh and delicious! The crust was thin but not too thin, the toppings were generous and all cooked perfectly. Even better than that though, the flavor of the sauce was unlike anything I’ve ever had before; rich yet subtly sweet…I think it’s safe to say that this is the best pizza in Taos!
If you’re looking for a great pizza experience that doesn’t disappoint, look no further than Mondo Italiano Taos – you won’t regret it!
#7 Domino’s Pizza
The first thing that stands out about Domino’s is the quality of the ingredients. They only use fresh, locally sourced ingredients so their pizzas are always incredibly flavorful and high-quality. The crust is just the right level of crispy and chewy, and their selection of toppings is quite extensive.
The other great thing about Domino’s Pizza is its speed. Their delivery service is lightning-fast, making it one of the best options for a busy night when you’re too tired to cook or too lazy to go out. Plus, they also offer carry-out if you’d like to pick up your pizza yourself!
I’m particularly impressed by the friendly staff at Domino’s as well – they always make sure I’m happy with my order before they take my money. Plus, they always have promo codes online if I’m feeling extra thrifty on a particular day.
All in all, Domino’s has been my number one choice for pizza in Taos. Their combination of delicious flavors, speedy delivery services, and budget-friendly prices make them one of the best choices for pizza lovers everywhere!

#8 Plant Base Cafe Taos
- Has some vegetarian options

- Has a kid’s menu
- Serves alcohol
- Has insanely good dessert
I was truly blown away by the wide variety of topping options they offer. From traditional Italian favorites such as pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms to more creative varieties like tempeh, artichoke and pesto, there are so many inventive combinations you can make.
The crust is also top-notch — thin and crispy with just the right amount of char. And the sauce? It’s unbelievable! Not too sweet or too salty, it’s one of those sauces that will linger in your memory long after you’ve left the restaurant.
Everything about this pizza experience exceeded my expectations! From the cozy atmosphere to the friendly service, it’s clear why Plant Base Cafe Taos has become a local favorite. Without a doubt, this is some of the best pizza in Taos!
#9 Stella’s Italian Restaurant
- Has insanely good dessert
- Has a kid’s menu
- Nice tourist spot
- Serves alcohol
- No delivery
I had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious pizza at this charming little restaurant. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, and even better — they serve alcohol! Paired with my cheesy slice of pizza, it was the perfect night out. The kid’s menu makes it an ideal spot for families to enjoy some quality time together too.
The best part of Stella’s Italian Restaurant, hands-down, is the dessert. They serve up some insanely delicious goodies that will leave you wanting more! If you ever find yourself in Taos and craving some great pizza (and maybe a sweet treat for later), then Stella’s is definitely your spot.
That being said, I do wish they offered delivery as an option — but if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my travels it’s that some things are worth getting out of bed for. In this case, it’s absolutey worth taking a trip to Stella’s Italian Restaurant!
