I know a thing or two about pizza after trying pie from all over the world – from NYC to Rome and beyond. So I took it upon myself to explore Williamsburg and sample 12 of its pizzerias.

On my hunt for the best, I found some interesting offerings, like deep dish with apples, and weird but great combos. It makes me laugh thinking back on some of the odd creations I encountered (which will remain anonymous).

#1 Antonio’s Ristorante Italiano

When I arrived, I was greeted by the smell of fresh, homemade pizza. Inside the restaurant, the walls were covered in pictures and paintings showcasing Italian heritage and culture. As I looked around, I couldn’t help but feel like I had gone back in time to a small Italian village.

The pizza options were vast – from classic cheese to creative specialty recipes; it was hard to choose just one. After much deliberation (and a few samples!), I decided on their signature pepperoni pizza with a side of garlic rolls and cheese sticks!

The pizza alone was enough to make me weak in the knees- every bite was delicious! The crust was thin and crispy, topped with flavorful sauce and fresh mozzarella cheese. The pepperonis were spicy, yet not overpowering so that all the flavors could shine through. Even my side orders were amazing – the garlic rolls were light and airy while the cheese sticks had just the right amount of gooeyness!

Going into this experience, I thought it would be hard to top other pizzas I’ve tried around the globe, but Antonio’s Ristorante Italiano certainly proved me wrong – they have earned their title as having some of the best pizza in Williamsburg VA!

#2 FTH Pizza

I was immediately impressed with the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, it was like I had been coming here for years.

The food was amazing! Everything, from the crust to the cheesy toppings, was cooked to perfection. The group of pies we got were enough to feed an army – and trust me, there were no leftovers!

The ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I’m not sure what kind of magic spell FTH Pizza casts on their food, but it seems to taste different than any other pizza I’ve ever had.

Overall, this is hands down the best pizza in Williamsburg VA that I’ve ever had! Take my word for it and give FTH Pizza a visit – you won’t be disappointed!

#3 Blaze Pizza

The wood-fired pizza here is mouthwateringly delicious. The crust has that perfect balance of crunch and chewiness, with just the right amount of char. Toppings are generous and create a delightful combination of flavors in every bite.

The atmosphere at Blaze Pizza is also great. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to make recommendations. They even know the best pizzas to order according to my tastes!

I have to give Blaze Pizza an enthusiastic five stars – it’s truly the best pizza in Williamsburg VA! If you’re ever in town, you must stop by for a slice or two (or three)!

#4 Mellow Mushroom Williamsburg

From the moment I stepped inside, it was clear that this place was special. The atmosphere was cozy yet vibrant, and the aroma of freshly-baked pizza filled the air. I couldn’t resist the urge to sample one of their signature pizzas.

The experience lived up to all my expectations–the crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful, the cheese had a great blend of richness and tanginess, and the toppings were so fresh I could just taste that they were locally grown. All of these flavors together created an amazing combination that I’m sure will be remembered for years to come.

I first heard about Sal’s from a local and decided to check it out for myself. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, my taste buds began to dance with anticipation. The decor was inviting, with colorful graffiti decorating the walls and checkered tablecloths adding a touch of nostalgia.

The menu is simple yet delicious, offering classic pies like Margherita and Pepperoni, as well as some unique specialties like Prosciutto and Gorgonzola and Eggplant Parmesan Pizza.

I decided to go with the Prosciutto and Gorgonzola pizza and was not disappointed! The thin crust was crispy yet doughy in all the right places, and the combination of flavors was divine. The cheese was nice and creamy and provided the perfect contrast against the salty prosciutto.

After devouring my meal, I concluded that Sal’s By Victor has some of the best pizza in Williamsburg VA. Whether you’re a local or just passing through town, you absolutely must try this place!

#6 Olde Towne Pizza & Pasta

The atmosphere is cozy and charming – you can tell they take the time to make sure their customers are comfortable. As soon as I walked in, I could feel the warm welcome.

The staff was friendly and accommodating – it was easy to order exactly what I wanted. And the pizza? Delicious! The crust was perfectly crispy and the toppings were well-distributed.

I’d definitely recommend this place for anyone seeking some of the best pizza in Williamsburg VA! So next time you’re looking for a great pizza experience, head on over to Olde Towne Pizza & Pasta – it’s sure to be a hit with your taste buds!

The surface of the crust is baked until it’s a perfect golden brown, while the inside stays soft and chewy. The flavor of the dough is just right – not too sweet and not too savory.

To top it off, they use only fresh ingredients such as aged cheese, homemade sauces, and whatever else they can find in the local farmers markets. Everything just comes together to create an incredible pizza experience!

Now for downsides: there is no delivery option, which means you’ll have to make your own way there. But trust me when I say that it’s totally worth the trip!

For starters, the atmosphere is truly unique. The cozy interior with its vintage Italian decor instantly transports you to a pizzeria in Rome. Add to that the friendly and welcoming staff, and you’ve got a place that quickly feels like home.

But what really sets Maurizio’s apart is their pizza. After trying just about every combination possible, I can definitely say they knock it out of the park time and time again! The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, yet still has enough body to hold all of the delicious toppings without becoming soggy.

No matter how much cheese, sauce or spice you like, Maurizio’s has it handled! And if you’re looking for something unique, try their specialty pies such as the prosciutto & arugula pizza – IT’S TO DIE FOR!

I stopped by this quirky pizzeria after a long day of strolling along the cobblestone streets of Williamsburg. From the outside, it looks like an unassuming mom-and-pop joint. But I guarantee, it’s worth finding!

The restaurant was cozy and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful with my questions about the menu. Although their menu is fairly simple, they have all sorts of classic pizza options to choose from. Everything from pepperoni and mushroom to BBQ chicken and even seafood!

I went for one of their signature pizzas: Hawaiian. It had just the right balance of sweet and savory flavors from the pineapple and ham topping, combined with a classic cheese blend that was incredibly flavorful. The crust was thin but still held up well to support all those toppings without getting soggy—a skill only mastered by a master in pizza making!

#10 Bellisimo Pizza Cafe Inc

I visited the restaurant on a balmy summer evening and I was immediately impressed by the quaint atmosphere of the cafe. The interior had a cozy feel that made me feel right at home as I waited for my pizza.

The menu was full of delicious sounding options, but I decided to go with their signature Bellisimo Pizza -a classic combination of cheese, pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers, mushrooms and olives.

When it arrived at my table 10 minutes later, it looked absolutely mouthwatering! Every bite was packed with flavor and texture -the perfect balance of flavors from the various toppings. The hand-tossed crust was fluffy in some places and crunchy in others -a delicious contrast that were just begging to be devoured!

In conclusion, Bellisimo Pizza Cafe Inc exceeded my expectations and is definitely one of the best pizzerias in Williamsburg VA! If you’re ever in this charming town, don’t miss out on this slice of heaven!

#11 Anna’s Brick Oven Pizza-Pasta

When I walked in, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the old-fashioned decor and the wonderful aromas coming from their wood-burning oven. The staff was cheerful and friendly, and they definitely made me feel at home.

The pizza at Anna’s Brick Oven Pizza-Pasta was truly outstanding. The crust was perfectly thin yet had a great crunch to it that you don’t find anywhere else. The toppings were fresh and flavorful, a perfect blend of sweet and savory.

I especially enjoyed their house specialty which is the Margherita Pizza: made with San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala campana, basil leaves & extra virgin olive oil. This pizza was truly delicious!

I would highly recommend Anna’s Brick Oven Pizza-Pasta to anyone looking for some of the best pizza in Williamsburg VA. If you’re like me, you’ll definitely be back for more!

I mean, look at this place! It’s a quaint little deli shop that looks like it comes straight out of a movie. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Plus, their pizza options are truly something special.

The crust on their pizzas is just right – not too thin and not too thick. The sauce is flavorful and full-bodied, the cheese is perfectly melty and creamy, and the toppings are always fresh and cooked to perfection. Best Thin Crust Pizza – Blaze Pizza

As a pizza connoisseur, I take my pie very seriously. When I walked into Blaze Pizza, I was greeted with the warm aroma of freshly baked dough and a friendly staff that seemed genuinely excited about making me the perfect pizza. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint.

The first thing that caught my attention was their extensive drink menu, which included a wide selection of ice-cold beers. Who doesn’t love a cold one with their pizza? And as a vegetarian, I was thrilled to discover that they had multiple options for me. I topped my perfectly thin and crispy crust with colorful vegetables and gooey mozzarella – a true masterpiece.

But the best part of my experience at Blaze Pizza was their dessert selection. I indulged in a delectable s’more pizza that left me licking my fingers and yearning for more. It was pure bliss, like a warm hug from an old friend.

However, as much as I loved the pizza, I must admit that the downside of Blaze Pizza is that they do not accept reservations. As a food critic with a busy schedule, this can be a bit of a challenge. But hey, when the food is this good, you can’t blame them for being popular!
