I’ve spent many days scouring the streets of Houston, sampling the slices from twelve different pizza places in my quest to find the best pizza in the area. While I’m an experienced foodie, and have tried pizza from all over the world, I was curious to see what Houston had to offer.

Though it wasn’t easy, after much deliberation (and some cheese-induced bellyaches) I’m thrilled to report back on my findings! Join me as I share with you the delightful flavors and unique ingredients that make each of these twelve pizzas so special.

#1 The Gypsy Poet

On my first visit, I was blown away by the atmosphere. The décor is hip, modern and inviting, complete with an open kitchen and an energetic pizza maker behind the counter waiting to make your favorite pie.

The food is the real star of the show here, though. Every slice of their incredible pies is made from top-notch ingredients and cooked to perfection in a wood-fired oven. It’s like a symphony of flavor on every bite – sweet, savory, smoky and fresh all at once!

I’m already planning my next visit to The Gypsy Poet for some more of their unique pizzas – from classic cheese to something more extravagant like their smoked salmon pizza. They also have delicious salads and amazing desserts that round out the meal perfectly.

In short, The Gypsy Poet is one of the best pizza places in Houston TX for sure!

#2 Tiny Champions

Even though delivery isn’t an option, it’s worth the trek. That being said, I’ve only had to make the trek once because their pizza is so good that I end up going back again and again!

The toppings are always fresh and the crust is thin and crispy – just the way I like it. They also offer vegetarian options, which are hard to come by in some places!

What really sets this place apart though is their dessert menu – they have insanely good desserts that really make each visit special! Even better, they serve alcohol (including hard liquor) so you can wash down every bite with something special.

Overall, Tiny Champions offers some of the best pizza in Houston TX. The quality of their food more than makes up for the lack of delivery service. If you’re looking for an unforgettable culinary experience, look no further than Tiny Champions!

#3 Frank’s Pizza

The decor is minimal, but the pizza makes up for it. The crust is light, yet crispy, and it compliments all of the top-notch cheese, meats and veggies that they use in their recipes.

I tried the pepperoni pie – it was out of this world! Not only did they use fresh ingredients, but they also cooked it to perfection and gave it just enough flavor to keep me coming back for more.

I’m also a big fan of their garlic knots. They are always cooked just right with a generous amount of buttery garlic and Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. Plus, the sauce comes on the side for you to dip. Absolute perfection!

All in all, I’m proud to say that Frank’s Pizza has some of the best pizza in Houston TX – probably even better than any I’ve tasted around the globe! If you find yourself in town looking for great ‘za, this is one restaurant you won’t want to miss

#4 Luna Pizzeria

The crust was perfectly crisp, yet chewy at the same time and the sauce was a flavor bomb that really set the pizza off. On top of that, their selection of toppings are unparalleled. Whether you like your pies with classic meats like pepperoni and sausage or something a little more exotic like roasted peppers and pineapple, Luna has you covered.

The staff here is also friendly and attentive. They make sure to get your order right every single time and always greet me with a smile. Plus, their prices are more than reasonable for the quality of food they provide!

To sum it up, my search for the best pizza in Houston TX is over – Luna Pizzeria did not disappoint!

#5 Romano’s Pizza

When I first walked into their restaurant, I was met with the tantalizing smell of pizza baking in the oven. My mouth started to water immediately! The staff were friendly and helpful, which really set the stage for an enjoyable experience.

#6 Antonio’s Flying Pizza

On my first visit to Antonio’s Flying Pizza, I was immediately impressed by the décor. From the Italian music playing in the background to the large, wood-burning oven in the center of the room, it’s easy to see why this place is popular with locals.

The pizza is cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of char on the crust and a delicious, balanced flavor that can’t be beat. The ingredients are top notch – good quality cheese and fresh vegetables. And their sauce? Divine! It was so flavorful and tangy that I had to ask for another order!

The customer service at Antonio’s Flying Pizza was just as amazing as the food. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about each item on the menu, which made ordering a breeze. He even gave us helpful recommendations for our next order!

In conclusion, Antonio’s Flying Pizza is definitely one of my top picks for best pizza in Houston TX. I highly recommend them for anyone wanting a great slice of Italian goodness.

I mean, where else can you get a custom-made, brick oven pizza from scratch in the time it takes to binge watch the latest Netflix show?

The topping selection is enough to make any gourmand drool. From the classic pepperoni and cheese to unique options like roasted garlic and honey drizzle, MOD Pizza definitely lives up to its reputation of creating masterpieces with delicious ingredients.

The crust is perfectly thin and crispy yet doughy at the same time. The sauce is just tangy enough without being overly sweet – a true testament to MOD’s belief in using only fresh ingredients.

Every customer was greeted with enthusiasm and treated like family. #8 Brother’s Pizzeria

The atmosphere was great – warm and inviting with a hint of old-school Italian charm. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and always willing to answer my questions.

I ordered the classic Cheese pizza and it was perfect! All my expectations were exceeded. The dough was soft and chewy, the cheese was just the right amount of gooey, and the sauce had a nice tangy flavor that really made it stand out from other pizzas I’ve tried.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay for dessert as I had to be on my way…but that’s ok because the pizza alone made this experience well worth it! The best thing about Brother’s Pizzeria is that you can tell that each dish is made with love and passion for pizza-making. It definitely sets them apart from other places in Houston TX!

Let me start by saying that the atmosphere at Fia’s Pizzeria is great. The decor is cozy and inviting, the staff is super friendly, and you can’t beat the view of downtown Houston! Plus, they make sure to play some great tunes while you’re eating your pizza.

When it came to the food itself, I was beyond impressed. The crust was light and fluffy and packed with flavor. The sauce was zesty and rich – definitely one of the highlights of my meal! And the toppings were fresh, high-quality ingredients that really took this pizza to a whole new level.

This pizza joint is a great tourist spot, offering a cozy atmosphere and mouth-watering New York style pies. As a traveling food critic, this was just the place I needed to kick back and relax with an authentic slice.

But what truly stands out about Tony’s New York Pizza is that they offer some vegetarian options for those who avoid meat, which seems to be hard to find in some places. They also have plenty of dessert options for those with a sweet tooth like me – from strawberry cheesecake slices to homemade cannolis.

The only downside is that they don’t do deliveries, so if you’re looking for pizza delivered straight to your door, then you might want to look elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for delicious pizza served up with a side of Italian hospitality, then you can’t go wrong with Tony’s!

Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately noticed the wood-burning oven that was churning out pizzas like a well-oiled machine. The crust was perfectly chewy and golden-brown around the edges, and the toppings were generously loaded with flavor.

The staff was incredibly friendly throughout my meal, always offering useful suggestions about which types of pizza I should try. So, my advice is to bring some snacks, a good book, and maybe even a sleeping bag. You might be camping out for a while.

But once you finally make it inside, trust me, it’s worth the wait. The deep dish pizza here is a heavenly creation.
