From the West side to the East, I’ve journeyed all over town to find the 12 best pizza places. And boy, did I! As a self-proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I can safely say there’s something for everyone in Bloomington.

#1 Rocky’s Pizza

The atmosphere of the pizzeria is cozy and inviting, with large windows that let in lots of natural light. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making sure we had a great experience.

When it comes to the food, there’s no doubt about it – Rocky’s Pizza has THE best pizza in Bloomington IN. Their hand-tossed thin crust was delightfully crunchy and loaded with flavorful toppings of our choosing. We also tried their classic cheese pizza and that was just as wonderful! The sauce was perfectly seasoned, the cheese was gooey and delicious, and the toppings were fresh.

As if that wasn’t enough, they’ve also got some amazing desserts that are worth trying. Their chocolate cake is creamy and sinful, while the apple pie is simply divine!

All in all, I highly recommend Rocky’s Pizza if you’re looking for an amazing pizza experience in Bloomington IN. You won’t be disappointed!

#2 Mother Bear’s Pizza – Campus

I was absolutely amazed at the quality of their crust. It was light and airy yet still had an incredible depth of flavor. The sauce, incredibly fresh and flavorful with the perfect balance of sweetness, acidity, and spices. And the cheese! To put it simply, it tasted like heaven!

The toppings were also something else; I couldn’t believe how creative they got with them. From grilled chicken to black olives to roasted red peppers and jalapenos, every topping ingredients was cooked and seasoned perfectly.

The most impressive part of my pizza experience was the service. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. No matter what your pizza preferences are they will help you find exactly what you want.

#3 Eric Gordon’s Greek’s Pizzeria

The moment I stepped into their warm, inviting restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat. The smell of fresh-baked dough wafted through the air and the tantalizing aroma of pepperoni and cheese filled the room.

The pizzas themselves were out of this world. The crust was perfectly crispy yet still light and fluffy – definitely not heavy like some chains. The toppings were generous and spread evenly over every slice, making sure no bite was left wanting for more flavor.

On top of that, service was absolutely 5-star. From the friendly greetings when we entered to the quick delivery of our order, everyone at Eric Gordon’s Greek’s Pizzeria really seemed to care about our experience.

#4 Azzip Pizza

My journey began when I was first served their famous Provencal pizza, crafted with creamy goat cheese, zucchini, and roasted tomatoes. The combination of flavors was so perfect that I immediately knew this place was special.

The next pizza I had at Azzip Pizza was the classic Margherita – a combination of fresh mozzarella, basil leaves, and olive oil all layered atop a crispy dough. The fresh ingredients combined for a light and delicious taste which truly satisfied my cravings for Italian-style pizza!

Of course no review of Azzip Pizza would be complete without mention of their signature Pesto White Pie. While this may not seem like your traditional Italian-style pizza, the combination of pesto sauce and freshly grated parmesan perfectly complements the wood-fired crust to create an unforgettable eating experience.

All in all, I must say that my visit to Azzip Pizza has been the highlight of my travels! From the high quality ingredients to the excellent atmosphere and friendly staff, there’s no doubt that this is one of the best pizzerias in Bloomington IN.

#5 Cafe Pizzaria

The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. The menu features a variety of pizzas and other Italian classics, as well as inventive specials crafted by the chef. The crust is always perfectly thin and crispy, and the sauce is just the right balance of savory and sweet.

I’m especially impressed by their wide selection of toppings from classic pepperoni to unusual options like artichoke hearts. No matter what type of pizza you choose, you can be sure it will be delicious!

The only downside I noticed was that the pizza is a bit pricey. But if money isn’t an issue, I highly recommend Cafe Pizzaria for some of the best pizza in Bloomington IN!

I recently visited the restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The atmosphere was relaxed, cozy, and inviting. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to answer all of my questions.

The menu selection had something for everyone, from classic Italian dishes like lasagna to unique pizzas like the “Three Cheese Siciliana” topped with Asiago, Parmesan, and Romano cheese. I opted for a more traditional option: the “Stuffed Crust Pepperoni Pizza.” It was delicious! The crust was airy and light yet sturdy enough to hold all of the toppings together. The pepperonis were flavorful and slightly spicy – exactly how I like them!

Da vinci pizza and pasta even offers gluten-free crusts if you’re looking for an alternative to regular pizza dough. Their salads are also fresh and full of flavor. All in all, it’s one of the best pizza places in Bloomington IN!

#7 Mother Bear’s Pizza – West

The crust is perfectly crunchy and the cheese melts perfectly over it. The toppings are freshly cut vegetables and meats that really make the pizza stand out.

The presentation is also excellent – I was so impressed with how they created a beautiful blend of colors on just one plate! It made me feel like royalty.

The service was top-notch, too – the waitstaff were knowledgeable, friendly, and took great care of us. They even explained to me why their special blend of secret ingredients makes their pizza so unique!

Overall, my experience at Mother Bear’s Pizza – West made me believe that I’d truly encountered the best pizza in Bloomington IN. Everything from the quality of the food to the atmosphere was perfect; I’m already planning another visit soon!

As soon as I stepped through the door, I could tell this place was special. The warm and inviting atmosphere immediately made me feel right at home.

The staff was very friendly and helpful in guiding me through the menu. They clearly have a passion for pizza and it showed in the way they explained each of their offerings.

I decided to try one of the signature pies and the house-made Italian sausage really hit the spot! The crust was perfectly cooked, not too thick or thin, with great flavor throughout. The generous amount of cheese paired nicely with the rich sauce that had just enough spice to leave a nice kick on my tongue at the end.

Overall, Pizza X South easily lives up to its reputation as some of the best pizza in Bloomington IN. Highly recommend checking it out for a great experience at an even better price.

The crust was perfectly cooked and deliciously crispy. Plus, the flavors balanced perfectly with each other. I’m still in awe thinking about how delicious that pizza was!

Speaking of ingredients, the staff at Bucceto’s makes sure to only use the freshest ingredients possible. You can tell that these pies are made with great care and attention to detail. From the sauce to the toppings, every bite is heavenly. Their dedication to quality really sets them apart from other pizza places in Bloomington IN.

But what really impressed me most about Bucceto’s Pizza Pasta is their commitment to service. Every time I visited during my stay in Bloomington IN, they were warm and hospitable – always making sure my dining experience exceeded expectations.

#10 Goodfellas Pizzeria – Kirkwood

This place is one of the few pizza places around that serves alcohol, so you can really kick back and relax with a cold beer while you enjoy your pizza. Plus, they offer delicious desserts to top it all off after your meal. And if you’re in Bloomington for a visit, this spot is definitely worth checking out—it’s a nice tourist spot with great atmosphere.

The only downside to this place is that there’s no delivery option available; you have to go pick up the pizza or have it delivered by third party services like Grubhub. But trust me, it’s worth it! The pizza here is well worth the drive.

All in all, Goodfellas Pizzeria – Kirkwood definitely lived up to my expectations as the best pizza place in Bloomington IN!

The crust is perfect – light, crispy and chewy. The sauce is almost sweet and the toppings are fresh and plentiful. I’m not sure if they use some kind of special technique, but the pepperoni looks like little caps and adds a unique flavor to the pizza.

And talk about good service! I was expecting to wait forever for my pizza, but it came out piping hot in less than 10 minutes – that’s unheard of for a place like this.

But what really sets Aver’s Pizza apart from all the other pizzerias in town is their secret ingredient: love! You can really taste it in every bite!

Overall, I can honestly say that Aver’s Pizza makes some of the best pizza in Bloomington IN. If you haven’t tried it yet, then you’re missing out! So go ahead and get yourself an awesome pie from Aver’s because you won’t regret it.

#12 Baldy’s Pizzeria

When I walked into Baldy’s, I was greeted by a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, making sure that my pizza experience was top notch. The menu items were clearly marked and easy to understand, making it simple to find exactly what I was looking for.

I decided on the classic: a large pepperoni pizza! And let me tell you – it did not disappoint! The crust was crisp yet fluffy, made from all-natural dough that was light on taste but full of flavor. The cheese was melted to perfection and the pepperoni slices had just the right amount of seasoning. Every bite tasted like a little slice of heaven!

Best Deep Dish Pizza – Mother Bear’s Pizza Campus

From the moment I walked through the door, I could tell this place was special. The smell of freshly baked dough and melting cheese hit me like a culinary love potion. And as if that wasn’t enough, they serve alcohol! Now I can enjoy a cold beer along with my slice of heaven. The best of both worlds, really.

Being a food critic, I appreciate options for all types of eaters. Mother Bear’s Pizza Campus has some fantastic vegetarian options for those who prefer to keep their greens on top of their pizza. Who needs salad when you can have a veggie-loaded slice, right?

And let’s not forget about dessert. Their sweet options are pure bliss. Who knew that combining pizza and dessert would be such a genius move? I had the pleasure of trying their Nutella pizza and let me tell you, it was like a party in my mouth. Chocolatey, gooey, and downright sinful.

Now, I have to point out one downside – they don’t accept reservations. As a food critic, I like to plan my visits meticulously, but I guess I’ll have to take my chances. Thankfully, Mother Bear’s Pizza Campus is also a nice tourist spot, so I can enjoy the sights and sounds of the bustling crowd while I wait for my table.

All in all, if you’re in Bloomington, Indiana and craving the best deep dish pizza around, Mother Bear’s Pizza Campus is the place to be. Just make sure to bring your appetite and a sense of humor (because the wait can be long but definitely worth it).
