The search for the best pizza in Durango wasn’t easy—I was torn between so many delicious pies! From wood fired crusts and creative toppings, each pizza place had something unique to offer. In this article, I’ll tell you all about my experiences trying twelve of the best pizzas in Durango.

#1 Johnny Pizza

The restaurant has a cozy, rustic atmosphere that is comforting. I ordered the pepperoni and sausage pizza, and it was cooked to perfection. The crust had just the right amount of crunch and the sauce was just spicy enough. The cheese was bubbling and gooey, and the toppings were cooked evenly.

The service was excellent; they were friendly, attentive and knew their menu well. They had a great selection of beers on tap too!

Overall, I’d highly recommend Johnny Pizza for anyone looking for some of the best pizza in Durango CO. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

For those that are looking for a touristy spot or a place to watch sports, Olde Schoolhouse Cafe is the perfect spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Plus, who can resist a few drinks while watching their favorite team?

Unfortunately, Olde Schoolhouse Cafe does not offer delivery. So if you want to enjoy the amazing pizzas from this restaurant you’ll have to pay them a visit! But trust me – it’s more than worth it to savor the deliciousness of their pies in person.

Each slice of pizza I tried was absolutely delicious. The thin and crispy crust had a great flavor. The sauce was rich and flavorful. And the cheese…oh my! It was gooey and cheesy in all the right places!

The staff at Happy Pappys was also super friendly, which made ordering a breeze. They always make sure that the orders are correct to avoid any mix-ups.

I’m not sure what’s in their secret sauce, but it’s delicious. The toppings are copious and fresh and the crust is just crunchy enough. Plus, they serve alcohol, have a great kid’s menu, and offer vegetarian options!

The only downside is that they don’t deliver—you’ll have to get it yourself or with your friends. But no worries—it’s well worth the trip. Plus, it’s a great place to watch sports if you want to grab a few slices with your crew and root for the home team.

And let me tell you about the dessert selection! Fired Up Pizzeria really steps up its game here with some mouthwatering treats like brownies and cookies.

All in all, I think Fired Up Pizzeria is one of Durango CO’s best pizza restaurants. Highly recommended!

The moment I stepped in, I was overwhelmed by the inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. The setup is great – you can choose your ingredients, they’ll make the pizza right there in front of you, and then all you have to do is take it home to bake it yourself! It really doesn’t get any easier than that.

I got a traditional pepperoni pizza with some extra cheese thrown in for good measure. Once I got it home and popped it in the oven, my taste buds were treated to a savory delight. The crust was perfectly crispy and the toppings were fresh and flavorful – definitely one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!

The atmosphere is laid-back and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. The menu has a great variety of pizzas that are sure to appease all kinds of pizza cravings. I always love trying their ‘specialty’ pizzas like their Spinach & Artichoke, Italian Sausage & Pepperoni, or even their vegetarian-friendly Ultimate Veggie Pie.

To top off the great food, HomeSlice Pizza offers an impressive selection of craft beers to pair with your slice. This combination is unbeatable!

This place really stands out for its top-notch quality and creative combinations. The pizzas are cooked to perfection – crispy and chewy – with bubbly cheese that’s just asking to be devoured.

The pizzas are also loaded with a variety of delicious toppings like pepperoni, bell peppers, sausage, mushrooms, olives and more! My favorite is the BBQ Chicken pizza which is extra cheesy and smothered in BBQ sauce and smoky chicken. It’s an absolute taste explosion in your mouth!

In addition to delicious pizzas, the menu also offers some heavenly ribs that are fall-off-the-bone tender and drenched in a lip-smacking marinade. They even offer homemade sides like mac ‘n’ cheese, mashed potatoes and coleslaw which are all equally yummy.

To top it off, the wait staff at J. Bo Pizza & Rib Co is incredibly friendly and helpful; you’ll get personalized service from start to finish. I’d definitely recommend this spot if you’re craving some truly awesome pizza!

The atmosphere was perfect. The restaurant has a nice vintage decor and the staff were friendly enough to put up with my never-ending barrage of food related questions!

But what really sets Home Slice Pizza apart is their pizza. Not only was it hot and fresh when it arrived at our table, but it also had some of the best flavor I’ve ever tasted in a pizza. The sauce was tangy and savory, the cheese was creamy and melted perfectly over the top, and the crust had that amazing crunch that you can only get from a wood-fired oven. Everything about this pizza just screamed ‘taste explosion’!

In short, Home Slice Pizza is definitely one of the best places for pizza in Durango CO. If you’re looking for top quality pizza with good old-fashioned flavors, then look no further than Home Slice Pizza!

#10 Father’s Daughters Pizza

I’m not exaggerating either. I had one of their thin crust pizzas with a delicious blend of spicy, sweet and nutty sauce that really hit the spot. The pizza was cooked to perfection – the crust was crunchy and the cheese was gooey and flavorful.

The atmosphere at Father’s Daughters Pizza is cozy yet modern – my wife and I enjoyed it immensely! Plus, their service staff were friendly, efficient and eager to answer any questions we had about the menu items.

Overall, this place is definitely one of my favorite places to go for pizza in Durango CO. Hands down, it’s some of the best pizza I’ve ever had!

The first time I tried Pizza Hut, I fell in love with their crust. It was perfectly crispy, yet still had that amazing doughy texture. It held up the toppings without getting soggy, which is essential for a good pizza experience.
