I’ve sampled the pizza from 12 different places and am prepared to give my verdict on which one is the absolute best. From traditional favorites to surprising finds, I’m confident that you won’t be disappointed with what Northeast OH has to offer.

#1 Il Rione

The first thing that struck me about this restaurant was its inviting atmosphere. There’s a nice touristy vibe that makes you feel like you’re on vacation, and the staff are friendly and attentive.

The menu is varied enough to satisfy everyone. There’s delicious traditional pies such as pepperoni, but Il Rione also offers some unique vegetarian options. And for those with a sweet tooth – they offer dessert! It’s safe to say they have something for everyone.

Alcoholic drinks are available which adds a nice touch and is a welcome bonus after a long day of exploring Northeast OH.

However, one downside is that they don’t offer delivery – so you’ll have to actually visit the restaurant to enjoy these tasty pizzas!

#3 Harlow’s Pizza

The pies were cooked to perfection. The toppings were fresh and varied, and the crust was just right – golden brown and crispy on the base and tender around the edges. It was a sight to behold!

The service was excellent too – friendly staff that always had a smile on their faces, despite the fact that we kept arriving in huge groups. Nothing seemed to phase them!

The service at Athens Pizzeria is top notch, too. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they always go the extra mile to ensure that your experience is perfect. Plus, their delivery system is lightning fast–you’ll barely have time to realize you’re feeling hungry before you’ve got your hands on some delectable pizza goodness!

With it’s unbeatable combination of great taste, speedy service and friendly atmosphere, it truly has no equal when it comes to pizza in this region. I arrived at Pizza Whirl with high expectations, and they did not disappoint. From the time I walked in the door, it was obvious why this place has such a devoted following: the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and friendly. The pizza is simply divine; each bite was a perfect combination of sweet, savory and cheesy goodness – truly a work of art!

The crust was perfectly thin and crispy – not too thin, not too thick. The sauce had just the right balance of sweetness and acidity, as if it had been slow cooked for hours. And don’t even get me started on the cheese! It was so creamy and flavorful – I could have eaten it by itself! Toppings were generous yet balanced; everything from sausage to mushrooms to spinach tasted amazing.

#6 Vero Pizza Napoletana

The atmosphere is perfect for tourists – they serve alcohol, offer dessert, and even have a few vegetarian options.

I wasn’t too impressed with the crust – it was a bit on the dry side. But the toppings were fantastic! The sausage was cooked perfectly and their sauce was fresh and flavorful.

The only downside to Vero Pizza Napoletana is that they don’t deliver. You’ll have to make a special trip if you want to enjoy the best pizza in Northeast OH!

#7 Edison’s Pizza Kitchen

The atmosphere at the restaurant is inviting and casual, perfect for a tourist like myself. I was especially delighted that they serve alcohol – my trip wouldn’t have been complete without a good beer with my pizza!

The menu offers some great vegetarian options as well, which was an unexpected surprise. The pizzas themselves were delicious and cooked to perfection. I’ve had pizza in Rome, Paris, New York City, and many other cities around the world, but Edison’s Pizza Kitchen really put me in awe.

The only downside is that they don’t offer delivery service. But if you’re looking for the best pizza in Northeast OH, it’s definitely worth making the trip out to this restaurant!

I was really impressed with the quality of their ingredients – the crust was thin and crispy, the sauce had a nice balance of sweetness and acidity, and the topping options were really unique. And it doesn’t end there – they have two types of pizza on offer: traditional Roman-style pizza and Detroit-style deep dish pies. So whether you’re looking for something light or something more indulgent, Citizen Pie has it all!

I also want to give props to the staff at Citizen Pie. They were super friendly and attentive throughout my experience there, making sure I was taken care of and that my meal was top notch.

From the moment I stepped through their door, I knew I’d found a winner. The place was buzzing with energy, and it was clear that the staff truly loves what they do. The pizzaioli were crafting pies with such skill and dedication – it definitely put a smile on my face.

Let me preface this by saying that I’m a picky food critic and usually pretty hard to please. That being said, let me tell you why Dewey’s Pizza is the best of the best.

First and foremost, the ingredients are top-notch. The crust is cooked to perfection, with just enough crunch but still soft in all the right places. The mozzarella cheese has that creamy bite to it, and their homemade sauce is AMAZING! It’s tangy without being overpowering and there’s just enough spice to make your taste buds dance.

The toppings are also spectacular! Whether you’re looking for classic pepperoni or something a little more exotic like garlic chicken, you’ll find something here that pleases everyone’s palette. And speaking of pleasing everyone, Dewey’s Pizza can accommodate any dietary restrictions – as long as it doesn’t include pizza (just kidding)!

#12 Angelo’s Pizza

Sure, you’ll find better pizza here and there – a Sicilian slice in New York City or some Neapolitan slices in Rome – but none quite compare to the deliciousness of Angelo’s.

The atmosphere is casual and inviting, with plenty of reclaimed wood and vintage style posters lining the walls; it almost feels like you are stepping back in time when you walk through the door. But fear not, their menu is modern and up-to-date, with all your traditional favorites plus some exciting new twists. I opted for a classic pepperoni pizza and was absolutely blown away by its taste and texture. The crust was thin yet fluffy, cooked to perfection; the toppings were fresh and flavorful; and the sauce was just the right balance of zesty tomato, oregano, and garlic.

If you’re looking for an authentic pizza experience with all the flavor of a classic Italian pizzeria but without having to leave Northeast OH, then this is definitely the place to go! Of course after all that amazing pizza I had no choice but to top it off with one of their signature gelatos. And I’m so glad I did because it finished off my meal perfectly!

Their dessert options are out of this world! From the rich and creamy tiramisu to the indulgent chocolate lava cake, every bite is like a little piece of heaven. I have to admit, I’ve had dreams about their desserts. Yes, dreams!

Now, onto the atmosphere. Captain Tony’s is not just a pizza joint; it’s a tourist spot. The walls are adorned with nautical-themed decorations, and the waitstaff is dressed as pirates.
