I recently visited the city to sample some of their local pizza places and found a range of delicious pies! Some made me feel like I was in Italy, while others were unique creations that surprised and delighted me. After visiting 12 different pizzerias, I’m happy to share my top 3 with you – the best pizza in Owensboro KY!

I had a great time tasting all sorts of styles of pizza. Every pie brought something special to the table and it was a challenge for me to determine which ones were truly the best. #1 The Oven

The first thing that caught my eye walking into this pizzeria was the woodfire oven in the corner. The aroma of freshly-baked pizza filled the air and I was instantly sold!

The staff at The Oven were friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their pizza-making craft. From discussing different types of cheeses to explaining why their signature flavor combination was so delicious, they really went out of their way to make sure my meal was perfect.

I’m always partial to thin crust pizzas so I opted for one with an extra dose of tomato sauce, a generous helping of mozzarella cheese, and some pepperoni slices. It came out looking like it was made by a master chef—impressive considering how busy the place was on that particular evening!

One bite and I knew that this had to be some of the best pizza in Owensboro KY. The crust had an excellent crispness but still managed to stay slightly chewy; the abundance of cheese gave each bite great richness; and the spiciness from the pepperoni left me wanting more!

#2 PeezO’s Pizza

The atmosphere was great – it had paper checkerboard tablecloths, red and white checkered curtains, and the walls were covered with pictures of Italian culture. I felt like I was back in Italy!

The pizza was outstanding! The crust was perfectly cooked, with that slight crunch of a wood-fired oven. And the ingredients were incredibly fresh – they all tasted like they had just been plucked from an Italian farmer’s market!

To top it off, PeezO’s Pizza has some great service too! The servers were friendly and attentive, eager to make sure I got the perfect slice.

All in all, my experience at PeezO’s Pizza was incredible. They definitely have the best pizza in Owensboro KY!

#3 Mellow Mushroom Owensboro

I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of delicious toppings they had to offer, from ricotta and feta cheeses, to artichokes and spinach! The crust was nice and crisp, and the flavors really popped. The staff was also extremely friendly and accommodating – I felt like family.

The atmosphere was cozy and inviting – perfect for an evening enjoying a pizza with friends or family. I tried their signature pie, the Mighty Meaty, which was absolutely divine. The combination of pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, bacon, ham and mozzarella cheese with a garlic parmesan sauce was just heavenly!

Overall my experience at Mellow Mushroom Owensboro was more than satisfactory. I must say that it truly lived up to its reputation as having some of the best pizza in Owensboro KY! If you’re ever in the area and craving a delicious slice of pizza, look no further than this fantastic pizza joint!

#4 Fetta Specialty Pizza & Spirits

At Fetta, they take their pizza making very seriously. The pizzas are truly something special with all sorts of flavorful combinations. Yes, you heard me right: a pizza made with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheddar cheese!

The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything from the décor to their open kitchen concept created an inviting environment that made me feel right at home.

The pizza was hands down the best I’ve had in quite some time. The crust was perfectly crisp, with just enough flavor to be interesting but not overwhelming. And the toppings were top notch! From pepperoni and sausage to veggies like mushrooms and fresh tomatoes, each topping was flavorful and cooked just right.

The specialty pizzas are also worth noting – they really do know how to dress a pizza! The flavors mingled together wonderfully, creating a harmonious taste sensation that I couldn’t get enough of.

I’m not easily impressed, but the service here was top-notch right away. They were knowledgeable and informed me of the many options on their menu. After careful consideration, I decided to try the classic Margherita pizza.

The presentation really hit the mark with this one. The thin crust had a subtle crunch that was complemented by fresh tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. And let me tell you—the tomato sauce was pure perfection! It had just the right amount of sweetness that complemented the entire dish perfectly – I could have eaten it by itself!

But wait, there’s more! The staff at MOD Pizza made sure to pay close attention to my individual order, ensuring that each ingredient was perfectly balanced – a true sign of professionalism in anyone’s book.
Moreover, they also managed to pull off an amazing fusion of Italian and American flavors. An impressive feat, indeed!

The staff at 54 Pizza Express are some of the friendliest I’ve encountered in my travels. Every order is taken with a smile, and each delivery arrives promptly and piping hot! As for the dining experience, it’s unlike any other I’ve enjoyed; from the welcoming atmosphere to the cozy seating area that lets you relax while you wait for your meal.

At the end of the day, 54 Pizza Express delivered one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had and easily takes top honors as the best pizza in Owensboro KY!

The atmosphere at Pizza By The Guy is really something special. They’ve got a great music selection playing in the background (definitely adds to the flavor!) and friendly service from their staff. The vibe inside really makes you feel welcome and like you never want to leave!

But what really sets this pizza joint apart from others is their unique ingredients that they use in their pizzas. Who would have thought that adding caramelized onions or feta cheese would make such a difference? It’s unbelievable!

Their crust is so light and airy that I could tell it was handmade with care. The tomato sauce had a perfect blend of spices – sweet and savory – that complemented the cheese wonderfully. And the cheese itself was of exceptional quality, making each bite creamy and delicious.

I also would be remiss if I didn’t mention their topping selection! With everything from pepperoni to pineapple, they have something for everyone. Plus, the toppings are carefully placed on each piece of pizza so you get the perfect balance of flavors in every single slice.

I’m not normally one to make sweeping statements, but after trying the Y-Not Pizza and Wings special pizza – a combination of spicy sausage, pepperoni, bacon, mushrooms and onions – I can safely say that I’ve never had such delicious pizza in my life. The crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings were fresh and flavorful.

The wings also deserve a special mention. They are cooked to perfection every time. The flavors were truly unique and vibrant – there’s something for everyone on their menu. My personal favorite was their hot sauce wings; they had just the right amount of kick that left me wanting more!

The atmosphere was great, with a casual vibe and friendly employees. I was immediately impressed with the speed of service; they had my pizza ready within minutes.
