Pizzarette Review: In-Depth Assessment of Every Baker’s Favorite Oven

Being a pizza lover, during my time I learned that there are electric, tabletop, and mini pizza makers that can help me to make perfectly cooked pizzas in minutes. I am a huge pizza fan, and I have been cooking pizzas over an open fire since my childhood.

When I was 21 years of age, I got my first grill oven in Italy. That was back in 2014 when I took a trip around the country to learn more about making pizzas the Italian way. Besides, I had heard that every pizza lover must visit this country countless times.

That said, other than my grill oven from Italy, I have made pizzas using special ovens and tried out a variety of different, exciting ways of cooking. In this post, I will tell you all about one of my favorite cookers, the Pizzarette oven.

This tool is quite easy to use, and it can make individual pizzas for four to six people. I have used it to make mini pizzas several times by simply putting my dough and toppings through the sizeable portholes and then, onto the baking surface. From my experience, I can say that this is the perfect pizza oven for both professionals and wannabe cooks. It takes between five and seven minutes to cook a pizza.

What’s in the Box?

My Pizzarette oven was shipped within a week. On opening, the product’s package contained one handmade terracotta dome, five black spatulas, one stainless steel spatula that you can cook on, a cooking sheet, a pizza dough cutter, a base heating unit with an electrical cord, and instructions.

The spatulas that came in the package appeared to be great for loading a pizza onto the baking surface. Other than that, you can use them to remove your perfectly-cooked pizzas when they are done. Note, you can use the stainless-steel spatula as a pizza stone. You can leave your dough disc on it until the pizza is cooked as no damage will be done to it. Then, you can simply slide out your pizza while holding the insulated part of the spatula.

I want to note that what you get in your product’s box depends on the model you purchase. The four-person Pizzarette classic package comes with a removable and non-stick surface for cooking, three back spatulas, and one spatula made of stainless steel.

The six-person Pizzarette classic package has a removable, non-stick cooking surface, five black spatulas, and a single stainless-steel spatula. Lastly, the six-person Pizzarette advanced model has a removable cooking stone plate, five black spatulas, and one spatula made of stainless steel.

Design and Features

Product DimensionsItem WeightShipping WeightManufacturer

Manufactured by TableTop Chefs, this Pizzarette countertop oven has dimensions of 16 by 16 by 14 inches. The item weighs 16.6 lbs. This oven is compact and can be placed on any kitchen countertop. There’s an easy-to-wash cooking sheet that can be removed and cleaned fast.

Regarding that, you should clean the sheet only by hand. For the rest of the unit, be sure to use a damp cloth for wiping all dirt off the appliance. The stone or non-stick baking pan will need a more thorough cleaning. I soaked the pan in some water to get the dirt that stuck on it to get off easily. The stone pan, however, requires more scrubbing.

This pizza-making oven is quite easy to store. Typically, it takes about fifteen minutes to cool off, after which you can put it back in the packaging. Alternatively, you can find a space in your kitchen to store this item when it is not in use. That said, the thing I loved the most about this oven is its eye-catching design. It is entirely aesthetic and will look like a real piece of art in the kitchen.

This oven comes with an array of useful features. For one, there is a high-power electric heating element. Thus, this tool will be ready to make your mini pizzas in five minutes. You can try out various toppings and recipes and still get your pizzas ready for eating within a short time.

Another notable feature is the handmade terracotta dome that is credited for adding flavor to any pizzas you make in the oven. Apart from that, this item boasts dual heating elements that make the cooking of your pizzas quick. The oven also has a removable cooking sheet.

For cutting the dough, there is a dough ring cutter that allows you to prepare 4.5-inch circles. Therefore, you can make several mini pizzas quickly and customize the toppings to each family member or friend. To keep the mini pizza discs from getting stuck on the stone, be sure to flour them appropriately. Also, you must put some oil on the baking pan.

To get an idea of how to use the different features of this product, give it a test run. This way, you will understand how thick the pizza discs should be, what the duration of cooking is, and the right amount of toppings to put to ensure that it does not fall off.

I managed to get everything right after doing some test runs myself. As such, I can confirm that this item provides well-cooked pizzas when used right.

Specifics of Pizzarette Oven

The dome is made of terracotta, a natural brownish orange clay that is used in pots, sculptures, bricks, etc. It keeps the oven temperate at an optimal level, evenly spreads the heat, and helps to preserve the pizzas’ flavors. The dome features six small arches. These are the spaces to put the pizzas in for cooking. That means you can place up to six pizzas at a go. These arches also help you monitor your pizzas as they are being prepared.

The oven uses electricity and comes with a three-prong style plug. So, it is suitable for most US-style electric outlets. It also comes almost fully assembled so that you can quickly start making your first pizzas. Also, this unit is available in 110 Volts. However, you can contact the manufacturer if you need a higher voltage.

How to Use Pizzarette Pizza Oven?

This Pizzarette oven is a perfect tool for making multiple small pizzas with different toppings at the dinner table. It can become quite handy at dinner parties as it allows each person to customize their toppings. It’s also really great when you have guests, and you want to involve them in the dinner-making process. Don’t worry about teaching your guests how to use the equipment as it is pretty simple and handy.

This oven does not need much setting up. To start utilizing it, cover the heating unit with the dome and plug it into an electric socket. At this point, you should remember that this appliance works on 110v. So, be sure that your power outlet is within the recommended output.

Top each of your mini-pizzas with your preferred toppings. As many as six small pizzas can go into this Pizzarette at a time. The machine takes about 5 minutes or so for preheating to the right temperature.

Start sliding your pizzas inside the arches on the dome one by one. To slide and remove your pizzas easily from this oven, you can use steel spatulas along with the item. This Pizzarette features a high-power heating system, which makes cooking time short. The time your mini-pizzas need to cooks depends on how thick your dough is. However, once you start using this oven, you will quickly get used to the ideal proportions of the dough and the topping.

Once your pizzas are inside the oven, set it up for five to ten minutes (depending on your dough thickness and amount of toppings). The dual heating feature on this machine below and above allows your pizzas to cook quickly and evenly. However, I would advise you to rotate pizza disks every few minutes to get even more balanced baking. Also, don’t stack up too many toppings to avoid spilling when you are removing your pizza.

After the set time is up, pull out your pizzas with the spatulas. Check if the doughs were cooked to your liking. Have an oven mitt with you as the handle can get hot after some time. Since you can cook several pizzas at once, you have the freedom to try different combinations.

To ensure that my cooked pizza slid easily, I spray light oil on the cooking surface to make sure my dough doesn’t stick during baking. You can also cook pizza right on the spatula for easy removal. In this case, make sure you dust your spatula before you place the dough. However, the cooking surface is non-stick, so, it is not easy for the pizza to stick on it.

After using the oven, you can clean it easily by hand with some water and place it back in its box or your countertop. But first, let it sit on for about fifteen to twenty minutes after cooking to cool off. Then, lift the dome and remove the cooking sheet. Soak it in water for a few minutes then clean any dirt off. You can wipe the inside of the dome lightly with a wet cloth (don’t soak it). Since this oven is compact, you can place it almost anywhere in your kitchen.
